well the idol kids did CRT - a rousing version, audience clapping and Gord
just beaming! he came up, shook hands with all of them and ben mulroney
(former Primem Ministers son) asked him how he felt about the whole thing.
he was pleased and honoured tht the whole show was his music and he had a
great learning experience. he looked great in a black pullover with collar
and black jeans. meredith was with him again tonite. ben said thanks for the
music, the time and the contribution to canadian music, and canada...very
nice....the idols looked like they had a great time performing it.
well done.

ACK! Your teenage girls are as bad as ours, tying up their parents' phone lines. She was great, her rendition was beautiful, and they kicked her out? Girls 11-14 should NOT be allowed to vote. lol oh, sad, sad, sad.
Hey people in Canada, tell me who you thought should go tonight...just curious...

I thought elena would get the boot-she was lovely , her song was lovely but she wasn't as good as the others. the kid with the pierced lip, that did sundown will be next..
It's a regional, popularity, talent voting type of system...not fair for the really MOST talented but that's the way it goes. they all have had some great exposure..3 million out of 33 million people voted last night...that's the most in two seasons of shows.
too bad they didn't throw a song from HARMONY in there.

That would have been nice, hearing something from harmony. I think your top six picks were generally more talented than the AI top six...we had to deal with Jasmine Trias right up to the final three.
I predict it goes to the cutest boy.

i agree with you all, would have been nice to see Gord comne out of the shadows w/guitar and close out last verse of CRT
or how about belt our River of Light or say, Boathouse and show these teens how to rock the joint... but all in all, a good week!
...Kalan won't bother me if he wins, he plays a ton of instruments and really nailed some nice fiddle licks (1/32 notes?) as CRT peaked... nice to hear Jake let the kids know that CRT is perhaps the greatest Canadian song of alltime, yeah, a good week

Char, I did the link from the first night and it takes forever to come up. I actually finally stopped it and never saw it. Does it take a really long time or is it the computer again?
So Meredith was there both nights. How about any of the other kids?

Jacob really did a bad number of Sundown. One of the few songs someone can't jazz up at all. Not surprised that Elana is off. Dissappointed that Gordie didnt perform Steel Rail Blues, but i am really impressed about the Trilogy remake. Theresa safe, so that's a happy thought for Saskatchewan people

I was very disapointed Elena got the boot, I think she and Kalan are the two best singers there, and Elena has shown the most improvenent of any of them. Personally I would have liked to have Jason Greely gone. He's good but dare I say boring?

It's no secret that the majority of the voters are young people. Let's see,the girls vote for the cute guys and the guys vote for the "hot" girls.
Trouble is most adults wouldn't waste their time calling in to it and kids and teens usually don't understand or care about who's good. Very few do know. Been me. Later!

Brink - it must be your computer/server. I get it immediately.
the CRT song is online: http://clay.redhottopic.com/video2.php
the song clip is hi-lited in red.
Saw only Meredith - Miles could have been there but he wasn't near his dad as far as I could see...I probably wouldn't recognize him anyway-last time I saw him he was just a bit older than Meredith.

I thought Elana's version of Early Mornin' Rain was the truest rendition to the "feel" of that song of any of the numbers performed. I even thought she sang it better on the second night and she evoked a very sad and lonely feeling when she sang it. It's harder to sing a ballad the way she did than by belting it out like the version of Song for a Winter's Night was performed a-la Celine Dion.
For me, my two favourite renditions of his songs were her version of EMR and Shane's version of The Way I Feel.

I think Jason and Shane should be gone. Actually I thought they should have been gone a couple of weeks ago but at this point each competitor is so strong. Kalib was robbed last week, in the end though it's better for his career. As far as C.I. is concered it's Kalan, although I'm hoping for Jacob.

I thought the "Sundown Kid" should have been gone last night. He did not do very well at all. I think he tried to duplicate the rap version of Elwood but failed miserably...

Jake said that Jacob had done the TRibute version of Sundown and that he hit it dead on. personally, i think he should of picked a faster paced song ie; The Watchmen's Gone, Anything For love.

Finally had enough time to just sit and wait. I was really fantastic. Worth the wait. I have seen Kalen(?) IYCRMM, and the EMR versions. I've got to see the Sundown version I think after reading everything.
The fiddle playing was superb! I didn't care for the kid that was next to the fiddle player, but the audience seems to.
