Old movie featuring "If You Could Read My Mind" in the closing credit

I've been trying to locate the name of a movie that featured "If You Could Read My Mind" in the closing credits. All that I can recall about the movie was that it was about prisoners and that I saw it in the movie theatre. I would like to see this movie again but since I was a young girl when I saw it, I have no idea what it could be. This movie was out either during the late 70's or early 80's. Can anyone help me to find out what the name of this movie is?

I have checked every net source and could not find any late 1970's films that have "Read My Mind" at the end or even in it.

Nilda,you must have seen a re-release of some film or else you saw a film that didn't do well at the box office and it's become that forgotten! I tried! Bye!

Thanks for your reply unfortunately the film you suggested is not the one I'm looking for. I'll keep looking I'm sure it is out there somewhere. Even if the film did badly it would still be in some library somewhere.

Gordie also contributed If You Could Read My Mind to a Canadian movie called 'Slapshot'. This movie was set in Delisle, Saskatchewan. Paul Newman starred in the movie. It was kind of a "Dud", but us Saskatchewan people were really excited over it. It is about the hockey side of our little province.

The Jackman movie didn't have IYCRMM and the older 1973 version did....
Memory is a fleeting thing...that's why I used GOOGLE and found the info required.

It may not be the one you think you're looking for but it is the one and only movie made with IYCRMM running through it and at the end. I don't believe there is another with IYCRMM unless it's the hockey movie "Slapshot", already mentioned. (great movie!)

I'm pretty sure about this....me, Wayne Francis, Google...pretty sure.

Thanks to everyone for all the info, it was greatly appreciated. I was mistaken with my dates, I saw the film either in the late 60's or early 70's. I recall there was a black actor (Sidney Poitier?)in the movie. My husband thinks I may be referring to a movie called "The Quiet Ones" but I can't find anything on the movie. Mr. Poitier starred in it and received an Academy nomination for it. Although I was only about 6 years old at the time, the movie and IYCRMM song made a big impact on me. The first and second verse of the song fit very well with the movie. It was almost as if the song was written for the movie. I'll continue my research on "The Quiet Ones" maybe I'll hit the jackpot, if not I'll continue to look for the film. It has to be somewhere.

Was the movie made/released around the time you saw it or was it made earlier? Seeing at 6 in the time frame given doesn't mean it was made around that time.

Regardless, I'm sure (with help from internet searches and Wayne Francis) that the aforementioned movies with IYCRMM in them are the only ones out there.

Happy Birthday, Sidney! I watched, for the thrilenth time 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' the other night. Oh boy, was he gorgeous or was he gorgeous!?
