Hello. Well, come and get it. You can finally download the very rare and very sought after Two Tones recording. Ok, so I confess that I've known about getting the cd to post for two weeks, but just got the cd today, and wanted to wait till everything was all complete until I posted about it. It wouldn't have done to post a thread and then not be able to deliver the goods for one reason or another. Clark Harder, known on this board as somewhereupinmichigan, provided it to me on cd, and I just posted it hours after recieving it. Enjoy it. www.sheeken.com/maximus/gord
Thanks a lot.

Thank you, thank you! I had a couple of the numbers (Kilgarry Mountain and The Fox) but it's so great to hear them all.

Just to let everyone know, I was able to purchase a copy of the Two Tones from a person who posts occasionally here. Her name is Suzi (look for her postings under this name) and contact her if you are interested in just about anything that you see talked about on this site. Suzi is great to work and deal with and she has a vast collection of unreleased material.

When the Two Tones tried to get on stage at Mariposa back in the 60's they were told they sounded too much like the Everley Brothers. Gord told me about it at Mariposa 2000 and then broke into a few lines of Wake Up Little Suzy! It was great!

After knowing the Two Tones existed for some time, it was a real treat to hear them. Despite his voice sounding younger, Gord sounds like he'd been performing folk songs for decades..and he was, what, 23 at the time. I think "Dark as a Dungeon" would have fit perfectly on the IYCRMM album.

Matthew,
Thanks so much for sharing these rarities. I've loved GL's music for 30 years and it's a real treat to hear these early songs. I rarely post here but I am a frequent "lurker" and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your generosity!
Best regards

Thanks so much for sharing all of the songs on your site. I'm always so envious to read when people say they don't have every album because they have so much to look forward to. Over the years got every album right away and played 24/7 till knew every song in a week. By the time A Painter... came out, I realized there might not be many more opps to open a new GL album. I had the willpower to drive around with it unopened for a few days then only listen to sparingly for a while so the newness would last. Same with the previously unreleased Songbook tunes (was in heaven).
So these rarities are especially appreciated and I'll be sure to make them last. I've had to lean on GL songs a lot in the past year to calm my life so it's a treat to have some "new" ones. Thanks again!
