Wonderful show at the Keswick on Sunday, Mother's Day (and my birthday). The venue was perfect and Gord told the crowd that he loved to play the place. He, and the band, looked great, were spot on, full of energy and FUNNY (nobody ever told me he was funny!)Two long sets split by an intermission (so the beer drinkers wouldn't explode?, the lines to the restroom were a hoot!!!) I saw at least two people writing set lists and I hope someone posts it. I was too blown away to write, sorry! He did three of the new songs, in a row, Shellfish, NO Hotel, and "the one about Family?" I hope they make it to a CD soon, they were very good! If I recall correctly he ended the show with Old Dan's Records and the encore was Early Morning Rain. The crowd was very fired up, quite impressive, and thought he could be coaxed into a second encore and HE did come out and bow again but waved goodbye and that was it. He should be in great form for the Birchmere and Massey - I hope everyone has as good a time as my wife and I had last night. (There was quite a crowd waiting for him to come out so we skipped that but I hope someone has a report.)

Bill,
The song about family was called " Night Time". See my reveiw for Hagerstown. I am close to the Birchmere, but it is sold out for tommorrow. Seeing him in Hagerstown inspired me to go see him at the Birchmere but too late for tickets. Sounds like the show you saw was as good as the night before in MD. How does he keep going on like that at 62! I am sure he doesn't need the money but enjoys playing the music.

billw,
my sister and i, too, were at the glenside show. she wrote the songs down and will post them by this friday...i think.
we waited outside with the other 30? or so fans. in fact, we pulled our car up just behind the crowd and listened to our "gord: keswick, 5/13/01" tape. it was great, although i thought the others would have a greater appreciation for the songs. aside from a few backward, knowing glances, no one seemed affected.
we were able to, as we did last year, talk to him when he came out. i got a pic. of he and my sister, and he talked to us and answered many of my questions. a great ending to a great night.
re: the next cd, i think i read on this sight that the release date has been postponed for some reason or another. perhaps someone else can elaborate.
and bill, how about gord starting the concert off with "triangle"?
he's full of surprises

suzi q,
not sure, but i can list the songs. we began the tape with our wishlist songs, and went from there.
side 1:
it's worth believin, high and dry, on susan's floor, 10 degrees..., second cup of coffee, looking at the rain, ordinary man, rainbow trout, a tree too weak to stand, race among the ruins, miguel, go my way, talking in your sleep, redwood hill, did she mention my name?.
side 2:
love and maple syrup, now and then, approaching lavender, seven island suite, the watchman's gone, the list, steel rail blues, triangle (which he opened with), endless wire, the circle is small, much to my surprise, the soul is the rock.
on a separate note, gord didn't play "carefree highway" in concert. keswick was my 6th gord concert, and the first without that song's inclusion.

jbt,
I thought at first read that you had a tape "of the 5/13 show" but on second thought that's not the case (wrong songs!). Where were you sitting? I saw set lists being written and wondered was I right behind you? You should post your pics.

hey billw,
we were sitting at the very front left, three rows from stage. i think they were CC 1 and 3.
and no, our tape was one we made a week before the concert for the ride up and back. if i can figure out how to post the pix, i'll try...but more than likely will not (very technically challenged).
where were you guys sitting??
oh, and happy belated!

jbt,
Quite a seating coincidence? If you were in the "moveable" seats you were right in front of us. If you were in the permanent seats you were right behind us. We were in BB 9 & 11 left. And if you and your sister carried two drinks each after the intermission?? Either way you were close! It WAS a great show, ask her to post the setlist. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Hi lavender,
Thanks for the setlist. As soon as I noticed you writing I said to my wife "I wonder if that's one of the people from the GL site?" I'm sorry I didn't say hello but I don't like to bother people. It was surely you guys in front of us if you moved to the FRONT row when the folks up there left. Yes?
Thanks again and maybe we'll run into you at the next one. Say hi to jbt.

Hi Billw,
Jbt and I did indeed move to the front row for the last song. What great seats! What a coincidence! We wondered the same thing about meeting other fans from the website. Maybe next time as you said. Hopefully the next area concert will be sooner than later.
Looking forward to the new CD...

Hi lavender & jbt,
Thanks for the closure on my question! It is surely a small world. Hopefully Gord will continue to tour for a long time and come back to our neck of the woods some day soon. Have a great summer! (if he's not back within a year I guess it's a road trip)
