I was getting bored with my current CD's that I brought with me on this trip and was desperate. I really set out to but the new Johnny Cash "Unearthed" 5 disc box set but it was $15 more than I have seen it elsewhere.

Then I saw the tribute CD and said what the heck. I probably won't like it but that wouldn't be the first CD I bought and only played once. I figured that it had to be better then that stupid Beatles CD I bought. I wish I had that Beatles CD when I was in the 4th grade because I could have related to their music back then.

I should have bought it sooner! I really love this disc. I especially like "Summer Side Of Life", "Drifters" and "The Way I Feel". I just bought it this evening so I haven't even listened to all the songs all the way through yet.

If anybody doesn't have this yet, it is well worth it and I am sure it will get much play time in my player. Take it from someone who usually doesn't like to hear anybody sing Lightfoot's songs but him. These are very good covers and I can see why Lightfoot was proud of it.

Rubber Soul I believe was the name of it. Really sucked. I got bashed last year on this forum for saying that The Beatles sucked so I figured that I would give them another try. I can't give that stupid CD away.

"Home From The Forest" is the best cover I have ever heard. Wow. What a beautiful version of this song.

I have already asked Santa for it, so I'm glad to hear it's worth the money. I had a feeling though.

Finally bought my own copy of Beautiful,A tribute to Gordon Lightfoot. This is a nice tribute to Gordon, his music deserves to be honored. I like the Canadian Railroad cover and the song LIGHTFOOT is nice at the end of the CD. Peace, Randy

The Beatles are your blind spot, Watchman. Don't share your opinion of Rubber Soul with too many people if you don't want to get beaten up. I'd take that disc off your hands, but the Beatles became my personal golden calf, so I banished them from my collection (which is interesting, I guess, considering Lennon's claim to be more popular than Chirst).

got it and can't get enough of "the way I feel", oooooh buddy, she do something there. I like it, it's good all the way through. She do something there on "the way I feel". It be that funk. the band has that flavor from, ya know a time back. I can believe that gord would like that cd, a LOT.

I think "Home From The Forest" is the best Lightfoot cover ever. "The Way I Feel" is fantastic too.

Restless, I will try to watch out for all the unruly Beatles fans.

i'm not sure which songs are on rubber soul but i can say that the beatles were less than thrilled with what phil specter did to their music in producing it. revolver and abbey road are well done and some of the early tracks which were written and sung by lennon had the edge and introspection which i think made the beatles larger than life.

If I didn't already have it, I'd take it off your hands I'm not familiar with all the Beatles stuff, but that is one of my favorites. I didn't care for a whole lot of their later music.
