Hi Sheryl,
A friend and I are flying down from Vancouver Island (Friday and Sat. night shows!) You mentioned getting together somewhere prior to show time on Saturday night. Sounds great...any ideas where...let me know. And by the way, we think of Gord as ours up here; we are really only loaning him to you folks down south!

Whoa, Richard, them's fightin' words!!!
(LOL!!) We LOVE that man, heart and soul!! There's enough to share...!! And, yes, definitely let's get together. I've never been to that hotel before, but, we can certainly find a place to meet and hang out beforehand, right, Brink? Any ideas?

Hi Sheryl,
Without any real idea of what the casino looks like, how about two hours prior to the show at the main entrance to the theatre?
Just a suggestion...unless an alternative comes to mind.

at the door is fine with me, then off to maybe the alligator bar? Or we could meet for dinner before the show. Since the show is at 8:00 what would be open afterward?

I can't go and I'm pouting!!!!!

But Cerritos looms large.

I don't want much, I just want it all.

If y'all are gonna be in Las Vegas a day or two, there's a great drive up Kyle Canyon Road, off the fwy running north of town, into the mountains (even have a ski resort,) and a great place for a horse ride.

Hoagy's Stables (if it's still there)rents w/o a guide. A winter ride in the snow, alone on a Red Chief Appallusa (sp?)is a vivid memory of one particular birthday.

In case Gord's music moves you to the mountains,

The Rez

Have you ever seen a horse laugh? Well, that would be mine if I were on one. The last time I was on one, about 20 years ago, I swear he laughed at me. Horses *know* who's the boss when I'm on them -- THEY are. I don't know how to make them go! And kicking them in the ribs just seems mean.

Horses Know Who's the Boss of Them:

Absolutely!

In the early 70s, my pardner & I were playing at a hotel in Missoula, MT. We made a deal w/ a local stable owner in East Missoula to trade free rides for on-stage plugging his stable.

The first day we went riding, both horses headed off the road into the tall grass, lowered those beautiful heads, and commenced to eatin'

A person is just not strong enough to pull a horses neck up when the horse don't want to.

So, we spent the next two hours aboard horseflesh while they ate . . . much to the amusement of the passers by.

Not cool, no matter how much pretending we did that we'd done the choosing to let 'em graze.

Hi Yo Silver,

Hey,

Is anybody going to be in Vegas Sunday, May 1,or even the 2nd? My wife, Ronette & I are catching the Sunday show, & will probably check into the Orleans around noon.

Rez, that horse place sounds intriguing. I grew up on a farm on the banks of the Mississippi River, 10 miles outside of New Orleans & horses were a part of daily life. I think that connection to nature is a strong part of my 35 year attachment to GL's music.

Hi Sheryl, Brink
If you want to meet for dinner...name the place!
Sounds great!
We'll undoubtedly bring our library of Gord (and other) experiences so that sounds like a great time. Keep in touch.

I will check around and see what is close. Did you get good seats? I am assuming that Vegas is closer than Massey for you right?

How soon do we line up before the show, I want to know. Do we have to queue up? Even though we have assigned seats... I've only been to one Vegas show ever. YES, Craig, I will be on hand Sunday until my plane leaves at 4:25... so I'll have some time, or at least an hour or two for certain, until I have to find my way to the airport. <boo hooooo>. I'd love to spend time with you and your lovely wife, and anyone else. Richard? Let's all meet, absolutely. I guess meeting at the doors to the showroom??? What, 2 hours before? Sounds good to moi. On the website for the casino, there are several restaurants. We can certainly find something before then or even just then, can't we? Frankly, I think I'll be too excited to eat...

Hi Brink,
The seats aren't bad....actually I could have had a pretty good pick, but with the Canadian dollar (getting better but still sick) I went for middle price on Friday and "cheaper" on Saturday. The lady assured me I would be no farther than 50 feet from the stage...which even in meters isn't too bad.
I tossed around the idea of Massey, but the flights in Canada are quite expensive; I'm flying out of Bellingham...and it is a good hour and a half closer.
As for dinner...anything is fine except for KFC and Mc....Looking forward to meeting with you folks and having a great chat.

Hey Sheryl & all,

Would be nice to see you in Vegas May 1 before the plane if that's doable. We'll keep in touch on that one, OK? Will you by any chance be coming to to Mimi's before the Cerritos show?

Know what you mean about too excited to eat.
