This was phoned in to me this morning by "Cat Tail."

1. Never Too Close
2. Shadows
3. Beautiful
4. In My Fashion
5. Cotton Jenny
6. I Used to Be a Country Singer
7. Sundown
8. Carefree Highway
9. Wreck
10. Let it Ride
11. IYCRMM
12. Harmony
13. Baby Step Back
14. Song for a Winter’s Night
15. Old Dan’s Records
short break
16. CRT
17. Hangdog Hotel Room
18. Bitter Green

I also asked her some questions so I could write a mini review for you nice folks.

This was *her* first Gord concert. Everyone was packed like sardines at very small tables. Very cozy atmosphere. In her words: "You're snuggling with the people in there!" She said it was a huge thrill for her to see him perform. He was wearing black pants, a long-sleeved white shirt and a vest. He chatted about the view of the train tracks from his room and he also explained the history behind certain songs as they came up. One guy kept yelling out, "Blackberry Wine!" She said Gord just glared at him. After Old Dan's Records, he and the band members walked off the stage, so she and a few people walked over to the side to talk to him. He came out to pick up another guitar and chatted with a few people for just a moment, then he and the band walked back onstage. She said (she realized afterward too loudly) "My, that was a short break!" She said Gord looked over at her and smiled. When it was over, some people were gathering over where Gord would come out, so she stayed there, too, hoping to meet him. He eventually came over to her, but, she was so nervous, she said, "It's o.k., you can go talk to the others!" She said her brother (who came with her) looked incredulously at her and said, "You told Gord to go away???" She laughed when I basically said the same thing to her. Hey, the girl was nervous!! Well, she'll be there for tonight's show and tomorrow's (I will be at that show, I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Reno), so, hopefully, she won't repeat *that* mistake and will actually TALK to The Man this time!!! Ultimately, she said, "It was AWESOME! It was just unbelievable! And it ended too quick."

As a resident of Reno/Sparks, when GL is in town, I always wonder, where is he now? What's he doing? Will I meet him somewhere in the area? For example today I made a delivery to the Silver Club right across the street from the Nugget, there's the marquis at the Nugget with "GORDON LIGHTFOOT" in large letters.
Anyway, looking forward to this concert.

Um...anyone know why these two shows have significantly shorter setlists than we've been seeing?

Casino shows are usually shorter than "regular" venues. In most cases they are 90 minutes straight, with no intermission.
I wasn't there, so I'm only assuming.

Saturdays show was GREAT! It sure went by fast. When it was all over I thought, "What, this is it! They only played for 45 minutes tops."

Of course, I was wrong. They played for 90 minutes but it was so good that the time just blew by. For one thing, I had this incredible seat right in front of Terry. Never had I been that close before. It was like having Gord and the band in your living room.

Gord looked and sounded great. The only difference I picked up was that he sings a little quieter...but that's why they have mic's, right?

Anyhow, after the show I was talking to the guy across the table from me and it turns out to be "Reno Rick". Small corfid world.

Saturday's show was, indeed, great. Cat Tail took down the set list, so I'm hoping she'll post it when she gets back home. Let's just say it was pretty much my "wish list" of Gord songs. "Let it Ride," "Don Quixote," "Song for a Winter's Night" "Harmony," and, as a bow to the several shout-outs at the end for his encore song, "Beautiful." <sigh> I brought my 12-year-old daughter, Alex, with me, and she had a great time! Gord even played *her* favorite, "Triangle." Had lots of fun this weekend!

One of the funnier moments at the 9/15 show came when Gord was introducing "Harmony" and noted that it has a "French feel". He paused, then chuckled, then said, "hmm...I wonder what that means, a 'French feel'? Anyone ever have a 'French feel'?" It was a good show. I just wish it had gone on twice as long. It was my first time to see Gord in person, though I've been playing his music for 27 years.

Gord's funny moment during the 9-17 concert came when the woman behind me yelled out that it was her birthday. Gord kind of looked over and acknowledged her then broke out with a little story about being at a birthday party. Every one is singing the happy birthday song and when it gets time to sing the name of the person who's birthday it is Gord says he couldn't remember the persons name so figured he'd just remain quiet while the others sang the name. Gord then demonstrates what happened next.

He gets real close to the mic and sings "happy birthday dear" (quiet pause) He said, it turned out nobody remembered who's birthday it was.

OK, you had to be there, but it was very funny. Terry was cracking up over it.
