Well talbot10 has forgotten more about music than I will ever know so it is a bit hard to scale the credibility stairs after him, but my take is that the 2 clips underline the popularly stated view that Gord is stronger in the lower registers these days.
I suppose I am saying that of the 2 songs ,(at their best), my preference would normally be for Sundown, but IMO Gord does a better job with Carefree Highway here.

Both a pleasure to listen to though .

He indeed does sound stronger in the lower register Stevo...Great observation.
