I've had this little ticket a-burnin' in my pocket for one solid month now and it ain't even April yet.
Does April come after February this year?
In the words of Michael Jackson (no, scratch that [inserts sound of hound scratching]) I'll Be There.
Anybody else?

Oh yeah, I'll be at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on April 23! I bought my tickets in November when they first went on sale. Row G of the Orchestra Section. I haven't seen GL in concert since 1987 so I'm really looking forward to the show!

Thank you kindly for the reply. You got me by two rows. Let's see A,B,C,D,E (how many is that?) F,G,H,I'll be setting reight behind you. I'll be the one sailing the skeet-shot CD fragments of Michael Bolton records backhand to the approving crowd

There will be a few others there who don't post often to this forum, but are Lightheads none-the-less. Kim, who lives in Northern CA is making the trip down and Doug who lives in the El Cajon/Santee area will also be there. I'm in La Mesa, but alas can't make it due to other commitments - but I'll see him in Toronto in May, so I feel ok about missing these.
Are either of you going to his concert in El Cajon the night before?

The Rez - anyone who would use Michael Bolton CDs for target practice is OK in my book! Just don't hit me in the back of the head with your backhand tosses!
Janice, I will not be attending the show in El Cajon. That show is at a casino, correct? I opted for Cerritos hoping it will be a full 2 set performance. Plus it's much closer to home.
I know there are other Southern California residents who post here. Anyone else going to the Cerritos show?

It's great to see so many of you going to the Cerritos Concert. No. CA, and even San Diego is bit up pull.
now, how do we go about finding one another. It would be so find to find each other so (Song Title?)
A standing ovation for a poorly perfomed song? No good. He doesn't give 'em.
I know, I'll be Charro. I'll worry about the how later.
Any ideas?

Hey Rez,
What I have done in the past, with great results I might add, is to post my EXACT seat and row numbers. Then people can find you, remember a lot of "posters" are serious introverts and leery of meeting strangers. Also give an accurate description of what you look like and what you'll be wearing.
Another idea, of John Fowles, is to find a local place and let everyone know how to get there and what time and meet everyone before the show. It worked GREAT for us in Hamilton and I will always be grateful to John for thinking of it.
So there's two, LOL.

OK, how 'bout we try a little of it all. I'll be wearing a dressy light green sweatshirt w/ a big white wolf on it.
Around the lobby they have tiles signed by the performers who have appeared there. I suggest we meet under the Victor Borga signature tile (no one else will.) It sounds harder to find a thing like that than it is. Before the show would be great - after too.
I'm not near my ticket, but it's in row 9. I'll post the seat later.
Join in y'all. Victor would rock back on his piano stool and smile . . . knowing.

The Rez -
I'll be in Row G, seat 7. I like your idea of meeting in the lobby before the show under the Victor Borge tile. I will look for you in your green sweatshirt with the wolf. That should make it pretty easy to spot you! See you there...

The Rez is smilin' real big right now.
It will be "insert favorite declarative here" to see y'all at Cerritos.
I better get my green wolf shirt cleaned.
If I had a drink in my hand, which I don't, I click glasses w/ you each, which I can't 'cause I don't drink booze anymore anyway, so - if we can all "air toast" each other to April, Lightfoot, and Victor Borge'
(no more run on sentences, I promise - maybe.)
Soon,

Evenin',
Janice posted at the "El Cajon Show" topic suggesting we who are going to "Cerritos" meet beforehand for supper.
She would drive up, although not able to attend that night.
As for me, I'm up for whatever y'all wish. meeting as many of you as possible would be a Joy (or a Janice.)
As I closed in my "El Cajon" post: my e-mail welcomes you.

I forgot that this topic was here, so posted my invitation to the Cerritos group in the El Cajon topic. Thanks for getting it here, where it belongs, Rez.
I hope everyone can make it. It's so much fun getting together with other Lightfoot fans and putting faces with the personalities that words introduce us to.

Janice, Kim, and Rez -
Meeting for dinner at Mimi's Cafe sounds like a great idea. Will gathering at the restaurant at 6 PM work for everyone?

Closet Canadian, et. al. (whatever that means)
6pm sounds fine for me to meet at Mimi's Cafe. Then we can all go stand under Victor Borge' just for the thrill.
Join us anyone?

6pm is perfect! I know Kim doesn't lurk here on a regular basis, so I emailed her. Hopefully she'll be able to join us as well. If she isn't able to meet us at Mimi's, I'm sure she'll find you guys under Victor Borge.
I am so thrilled and look forward to meeting everyone :D

Can't wait to see the set list; now that he's going back out on tour 'for real'...I'd love to hear a couple of tunes that have 'been sleeping' for awhile, like High and Dry...

Given all Gord's gone thru, I will be happy w/ any choices. Sitting w/ eyes closed and heart open.
Having said that, from the 60s till now, each of the many times I've stood in awe at his concerts, I always - always - wanted to hear a brand splinter new song.
Also, as obscure as he wishes to go shivers me real good.
This one will be joyful at hearing Gord again at all - regardless.
The Rez
PS: While were dreaming a bit, it's been a year of Sundays since I heard Ode to Big Blue.

I'll be in Cerritos and at the Orleans Casino in Vegas on May 1.
I'll post my seats later (not near them now).
Under Victor Borge sounds great!
Any decision on Mimi's? Which one? If not, the "Little India" section is very close by on Pioneer Blvd. There is a VERY plain little hole in the wall called the "Little India Grill" at 18383 Pioneer Blvd- Great food! In Artesia, an enclave completely surrounded by the town of Cerritos. The smells in this area are to die for!
Little India Grill phone # is 562-924-7569.
