djb, welcome and thanks! I'll bet Sweden is beautiful! Do you have any pictures of where you live?
This is becoming educational, a geography lesson!

I live in NH, originally from northern VT 2 exits from Quebec. Used to hear Gord all the time from Montreal. I've been to CA too
and often wish I could live there but I know I'd miss New England and the refreshingly cool autumns. And over here is a little closer to the Great Lakes! The only way I get to see them is on the weather map or on lake webcams. However they get WAY more snow than we ever do!

Once on tour, I stayed in Portsmouth, NH, and Bob Dylan was there, as well. I spent an extra day and went up to Maine and thought that they were absolutely beautiful. I thnk it was in the spring, but the morning after I got there, it snowed over 30 inches overnight! Being from Atlanta, I was amazed that the major streets were fairly cleaned-up, and life for those folks went on as usual. Atlanta would have shut down for two weeks! But, I'll bet te autumns there are fab! Being new to southern CA, I will miss the fall.

There are so many special places where we all live, and so many beautiful places on this planet, that, perhaps, it would be great to actually see where we all reside! Some folks have posted pictures of their area. If we could all do it, we could actually see!
What do you think???

You must be neighbors with the Gretzkys.

I think I'm ready for a vacation, a road trip. I'll just pack up and visit everyone. I'll take pictures and John can post them. Great idea Sean, wanna come along?

This reminds me of when some friends were vacationing in the USA. They met an American couple, and upon hearing my friends were from Sweden, one of the Americans said, "Oh, we met another Swedish couple once; do you know the Anderssons?"
Gotta love it!

Actually, it sometimes is a small world.
I live in a small village outside Leicester in England.
There used to be an old Rolls Royce engine factory 200 yards up the road from my house.
Guess who used to sometimes work there? … Our very own John Fowles!
Weird!

Hey, come on out to perpetually sunny, Southern California! Being from the east, I really miss cloudy days and some rain!
As I read through everyone's posts, and think (and see) where we all live, it kinda sends shivers down my spine. It's so cool to imagine where you all are. Someday, we should hold a world-wide GordFest
