Hello, since the song Biscuit City says "with a banjo in my hand," just wondering if anyone knows if Gord plays the banjo? I know that the banjo was an instrument used in folk circles sometimes in the 60's. Happy Traum comes to mind, as of course Pete Seger does. Thanks for any help. Matthew

While I'm sure that Gord has, on occasion, picked up and picked at a banjo; to the best of my knowledge he has never played it in concert or on any recordings. Those few songs of his which feature a banjo always have been played by someone else. Gord does, and has, played the piano in concert and on some recordings. As far as I know that is the only other instrument he has played professionally, besides guitar, in his long career.

I think the "Banjo in my hand" phrase is just a line he borrowed from the Stephen Foster song "O Suzanna." Gordon has done that several times in songs and it is neat!
