Re: Gene Wilder, R.I.P
Hi J. and all.
It's been just over 27 hours since I heard the news that simply took my
good mood and turned it cloudy and gray (much like it is here in Phoenix today).
A comic, acting, writing, directing and producing genius that
had given the world laughter and overall great comedic art, had gone.
Fans and admirers of Wilder know the names of his greatest films and the reason they were great were not just his talents but also the talents of friends he worked and shared along-side with, in making them so.
I do believe he'd not be the type to take full credit for his own work, because from where I sit, he seemed like to genuinely a nice person to be like that. He also shared all of that work and those thoughts of his with us. The movie goers and even television viewers.
I've no doubt also that if anyone else had played the roles
he brought to life, they would have either been diminished or failed.
Here's to the never ending memory of a man who brought true meaning to
the song lyric from Willy Wonka, "Come with me, to a world of pure imagination."
His imagination was turly pure and wonderus.
RIP Gene Wilder. We thank you for everything.
