Default LIVERPOOL - enroute-BUS trip-U.K. tour-Carter pics

CARTER: "Day 2 of our European tour with The Gord Lightfoot band.
Last night we performed at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow Scotland to a sold out crowd. It was the first concert of this tour and thanx to Chuck our stage manager, we pulled it off with out a single equipment hitch. Today we're on our way to Liverpool UK. As many of you know, we typically fly on a private jet when touring throughout Canada and the US. On this European tour however we are travelling on tour busses specifically designed for shuttling bands around. Here are a couple of photos of the bus we'll be using for this tour. Ahhhh luxury! Many thanx to Warren our tour manager for organizing this for us."

An impressive bus, if the driver can drive about without those cups etc heading for the deck he's a better man than me.

CARTER: Barry Keane and I at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool England. Feb 9, 1961, this is where the Beatles played unadvertised at lunchtime for 5 pounds. George Harrison was denied entry for wearing jeans but they convinced the bouncer he was part of the band and the bouncer eventually let him in. That was the gig that changed the world.

Good question INS
But all is well with Rick within the last 25 minutes his Blackberry has reported that he is now in Liverpool too

and on his other facebook page
Rick Haynes, Bassist with Gordon Lightfoot
there is the following from a couple of hours ago

On May 16, we left Toronto on a flight to Great Britain. 2 days later we performed in Glasgow, Scotland here at the Royal Theater. The last time we played in Glasgow was May 16, 1981, 35 years ago at the Appolo Theater. A fabulous, enthusistic crowd greeted us and erased any thoughts of the cool Scottish rain outside.

CARTER: Tonight we performed with Gordon Lightfoot at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool. Fabulous theatre, great catering and a wonderful crowd! Apparently the Fab Four played here as well. So cool!

RICK: Wow, already Friday! We're back in Liverpool, England, at the same Empire Theater we played in 35 years ago! Hats off to our fabulous regular crew + the UK assisting to pull this all off and make "our onstage space" work so well. Our guys are really "going the extra mile"!
Originally, the Prince of Wales Theater and Opera House was built on this site in 1866, eventually to be torn down and replaced by the much larger Empire Theater about 90 years ago.
