I would assume that once someone "makes it" and have a bundle of cash they will arm themselves high quality guitars, I have not "made it" but I have 3 high end guitars, 1 Gibson, 1 Martin and 1 Taylor. I don't have a bundle of cash. But an interesting item.

Yes, I'm looking to upgrade from my mid-range Yamaha ... was looking at Taylor, any tips on getting a good acoustic?

If you're not ready to spend the money on a Martin or a Taylor, look at Takamine or Alvarez. They are both good quality instruments. I would choose Takamine over Alvarez. Many professionals are using Takamine, such as the Eagles.
