Today at her home in Big Pond, Nova Scotia, a celebration of the life of Rita MacNeil will be held.
She sure made her mark on the Canadian music scene and inspired many young songwriters and others and provided them with an opportunity to showcase their talent by inviting them on her show as guests.
Rita was a fine composer and her writings will live on.
