Default Super Bowl XLV commercial

It's gone viral, and it's really cute.

I love the look on the mom's face as she passes him the sandwich. I always look forward to the Super Bowl commercials...today, of course, I will have to really concentrate on the game as well.

and they edited that part out for the actually aired version, how dumb, that was just as cute as the rest of it...it flew by way to quickly but certainly seemed like the best one to me (and lowest budget!)...i don't get into tall that CGI and space age bells and whistles (some of them we SOOO long and anti-climatic) so the monkeys parking lot ons plus the joan rivers (that wasn't CGI, was it?, lol) hottie made up the rest of my top 3

i thought the game was cool, two well composed QBs...as for the head scratchers:

i'm not wowed by choreography but i know it takes some planning and talent, but i liked the guys with the square heads on stage toward the end of the halftime and glad there restricted vision didn't cause them to topple off the platform

i now know who the BEPs are i suppose...looks like the old Jenney Craig gal (Kristie?) had liposuction...one her backing Pips had an interesting Tron haircut, i want one

i now realize that the Yanofsky arrangement of O Canada at the Olympics wasn't so bad...not after hearing last night's Idol audition version...how annoying ...looks like Cindy Lauper had plastic surgery

why doesn't someone just sing a version that the crowd can sing along to ...the GBA rendition was tasty, imo

if there is an event next year, it's time to bring out Gord and Ian, eh....lol

one thing: for many champ trophies, they handle them with white gloves (like tournament pool balls) until the moment comes that it's passed to Captain of the winning team...but i noticed all were able to grope at it during Roger's procession to that little footballmobile...i think they should change that...and i wish that prize was a cup or jug, that way it could be drank from, like Stanley's or Grey's or that good ol' Claret...but it's well-named and looks solid, unlike the WS pointy flag trophy...i digress...btw, what sort of macho QB guy is gonna ride around in that hot-chick-red automobile?

Congrats to Dallas on hosting the week of fun, apparently they overcame some challenges...i hope they settle their negotiations for next year (or rm will surely be climbing the walls....)

Amen. That was just awful. If I were king, I would invite John Hiatt and his guitar to do an acoustic version, speed it up, and let his facial expressions (instead of vocal gymnastics) tell the story.

Little Actor Becomes Big Star In VW’s Super Bowl Ad
February 5, 2011 12:52 PM

LOS ANGELES (CBS/KNX1070) — A young actor from Orange County has won the hearts of millions after landing a Super Bowl ad. Now he’s opening up about his heart condition, so that other kids can know that they’re not alone.

KNX 1070′s Ed Mertz Reports

“When I get scared, my mom and dad just say, ‘you have to cry through it’ so I just do it and there it is,” Max Page says.

Page was born with a congenital heart defect and has a pacemaker. He was treated successfully at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“The two lower chambers didn’t divide completely. There was what we call a defect,” his physician, Michael Silka, said.

Page’s Super Bowl commercial for Volkswagen has already gone viral with more than 16 million hits. It features Page dressed up as Darth Vader trying to use “The Force.”

“I hadn’t seen the movie so I just… I thought Darth Vader did this… I tried just different motions and they liked it, because everybody else was copying Darth Vader,” Page said.

The 6-year-old, who is already a regular on the CBS soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” says he practices his lines with his mother.

“I learn it and then I show it to my mom and then we read through it. We get really good at it.”

Whoa.....all I can find is Lyle Lovett for the 2010 game 4. But Hiatt and Lovett ARE buddies.

The Darth Vader kid is the nephew of a popular radio DJ where my wife works in Roanoke, VA. That was all the rage here for a while. Seems the kid is also on soap Y&R.

interesting water cooler chats, i'm sure!

they should give the 'masked' role opportunities to the uglier kid actors

ya know, the way it was unfair they gave that Monster lead to Charlize Theron

ok, someone nailed it...he's a cross between Mark Hamill and Meg Ryan

...best of health to the little guy
