Song For a Winter's Night
It's Christmas Eve and the spirit of Christmas is present even here in Vancouver where no snow is in sight and the temperature remains above the freezing mark still.
I would like to thank all the wonderful folks who support this site and make the very valuable contributions for us all to enjoy.
So on that happy note may I say "Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a "Song for a Winter's Night."
RJ.

Re: Song For a Winter's Night
Song For A Winters Night was amongst some of the more traditional tunes that were going through my mind on Christmas. Too bad that I still have a rotten case of laryngitis from a bout with seasonal allergies, otherwise I'd have been singing along with them.

Re: Song For a Winter's Night
Wish I could find the actual original recording of the song.
Haven't heard it in a long time.

Re: Song For a Winter's Night
The song is also available for download from Itunes or from Amazon as an mp3. So, if you just want the one song, you can get it easily. Of course, if you don't have a CD with that song, you are missing a treasure!

Re: Song For a Winter's Night
If anyone recalls my list of 150 Lightfoot Favorites from a few years ago,
I listed that song as one of my top 10 favorite Gord songs.
I have it on vinyl, tape & CD and I even have the 1994 Sarah McLachlan version on the soundtrack of the '94 Christmas movie "Miracle On 34th Street" ( on CD ).
I like hearing it "live" as well , pity it wasn't on "Sunday Concert".
P.S. - That list is no longer on the site but thankfully I had the hindsight to print it out.

Re: Song For a Winter's Night
OK... I don't know how to post a link to a thread but Borderstone's comment above reminds me of the funniest post ever (IMO) on this website.
It was a thread called "You Create The Set List" and the post was by Borderstone - post #14. I haven't felt much like smiling or laughing since the armed robbery but I just read that thing (for the millionth time) and it just still cracks me up! Sydney Steve was also pretty funny on that thread...
You could do stand up comedy, BS. Thanks for the giggle, guys!
