The Canadian Flag !
Many years ago I heard on a CBC News program,"MIDDAY", that the Canadian flag, which flies on top of The Peace Tower @ The Parliament Hill Building in Ottawa, was replaced every day, and any citizen wishing to receive one could do so by simply writing and asking for one. They would then send you one by mail with the date that it actually flew on.
This morning in my mail box, I was pleasantly surprised to find mine. It is actually 15' X 7' in size... Quite a large & beautiful flag !

How long ago did you write and ask for it?
Rick Mercer did a bit on Parliament Hill with the flag last night!

Re: The Canadian Flag !
It was some 20 + years ago... But Im sure today with computers (aso) it would probably be faster ??? {lol} I hope anyway !
I cant recall if I wrote a second time to Ottawa or not ? losing memory... lol ! Must have because MP Dominique LeBlanc's office sent me a 72" x 36" Canadian flag, a few years ago, which is on my wall here in my computer (guitar) room.
Anyway this morning it was a real surprise, I wasn't expecting it @ all.
A proud Canadian eh !
They had written way back that there was a long list !

Re: The Canadian Flag !
Gee, I wonder if they'd send one to the US?.....
My family has a US flag that flew over the Capitol and I actually have an Australian flag that was over some government building. The reason I don't know where it flew was that when I was there (30 years ago) some students that lived in the same building as my brother decided one night to steal one for me. I figure it's safe to say that now as I am sure the statute of limitations has run out. I was maybe a touch nervous flying out of the country with a stolen flag but what the hey.

Re: The Canadian Flag !
I can't help but wonder if they would allow someone from outside Canada to get one of the flags.
