Thanks for the good wishes. We have a lovely tradition at work of making a really big deal out of the "decade changing" birthdays, so I knew something was coming. But the clowns I work with really outdid themselves. In my office, besides the usual tacky dollar store birthday stuff all over the walls and hanging from the ceiling, they taped a couple dozen hockey pucks to the window to make a big 50. My door had the past week's sports pages covering both sides. Kinda makes it tough to maintain that professional demeanor in that environment.
There was also one new wrinkle that anyone on this forum would appreciate. We have the local radio station plugged into the phone system so it can be heard through the phone, or when callers are on hold. They actually went out and bought a copy of Complete Greatest Hits and played Lightfoot all morning. They were amazed and a bit freaked out that I could name the titles before any of the intros were finished.
After the third time through, several folks asked if we could PLEASE go back to the radio. I could have let it replay all day, but took mercy on them!
Well along with you turning 50 this year there's a few others celebrating the big 50 - Madonna, Michael Jackson, CorningWare and Velcro..
