Some assorted, miscellaneous mentions:
Gord said they first played Peoria in 1972 when IYCRMM was current. Said he shared the show with Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson and there was a "lot of discussion" about who would get to close the show. And no, he didn't say who actually DID. Said they had played there only twice since and hadn't been there in eleven years.
The Band was NOT introduced and that was a first for me covering about 15 shows in 32 years. Terry Clements got applause several times for his instrumental licks.
And finally, I noticed in most recent setlists that they were doing "If Children Had Wings" and was disappointed that they didn't do it last night. I have always loved the song and never heard it live. Oh well....

Re: Set List - - Peoria IL 4/2/08
You are most welcome!
Another thing has occurred to me. Gord mentioned the IMAX film "The Mysteries of the Great Lakes" that will be coming out. He said the wreck of the Fitz would only be maybe about a five minute segment of the film but that his song would be used. He mumbles a bit when he speaks at the mike and our group was unsure exactly what he said, but something needed to be stretched... (he made a stretching motion with both hands)... so we thought maybe the song would somehow be lengthened although I can't imagine how that could be....if anyone knows more about it I would be grateful for the information.

He does mumble and then sometimes he walks away from the mic as he is talking.
Thanks for the set list, sorry about If Children Had Wings. Nice that he is talking a little about his memories of playing, very interesting stuff.
We have an IMAX theater in Denver and I will let you know what I find out about the movie when it comes here.

Re: Set List - - Peoria IL 4/2/08
I got the impression he was saying that they stretched out the Fitz part (film) to fit the length of the song... but that was just a hunch as my hearing isn't all too good.

I, too, thought it was odd that Gord didn't intro the band members...
I thought maybe they just wanted more time to play.

Jesse Joe, you are welcome.....and to Peter Bro10 I think you are probably right; that makes sense that the film part was stretched to fit the song. I am looking forward to seeing the film as I'm sure we all are.

I wish I had a better camera with a decent zoom. Anyone else have any pictures of the Peoria show to share? Looking forward to the Joliet show next fall.
