Good, but unlike Wherefore And Why, the original is (Lake) superior.

Just now without really trying or remembering how I did it I found a page that answers the oft posed question:-
"What is the meaning of the song Bitter Green by Gordon Lightfoot"
A page that on my cretinous dial up was extremely loathe to open
and when it did I read predictably:-
"No one has answered this question yet"
No more revealing wasWhat is the song 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' by The Verve about?
where the sole answer by tigueron was...... "This Life"
whatever I still like the answers we came up with regarding the pig's eye fellow
see http://www.corfid.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=17803
And Gabriel Dumont's mother see:-

I am getting around to a heavy revision and simplification of my wonderfiul tutorial on how to save onto your hard drive for future viewing and/or format conversion any youtube/daily motion/live video Flash Video (*.flv) file at:-
http://www.youtubetutorial.notlong.com
because I have recently been using the ultra simple Internet Exploder sytem, whereby it SHOULD be a fact that any video that, even on a slow dial up, when you have actually completely downloaded it (when you see the"replay" invitation), since this indicates that the video file should be in your hard drive's temporary internet files folder. However even that ostensibly foolproof method like all the other programmes before it that I tried and discarded has not proved 100% reliable , so after more googling I found yet another freeware program:-
Free Video Downloader
Now it is just a question of time before that program too gives up the struggle!
However I have just downloaded the Bitter/green video

Enjoy
John

Sorry but I do not know the definitive answer to that CHar it downloaded fine and works for me. It might be significant that the recommendation to use it was contained in a message on the main Everly Brothers Yahoo group at:-
message
I have done a google for "Easy Video Downloader" security
and found nothing that looked in any way alarming besides my AVG anti virus highly recommended freeware program

"Free basic protection from AVG
The solution that more than 50 million users trust"
raised no objections to it that came to my notice. You do have some sort of anti virus protection I hope??

Sir John I would have the same question as Char. But just to remind you we have the same Anti Virus protection. Ive got AVG as my Anti-Virus, also Spybot that is supposed to be a very good Anti Spyware.

Are you still on Dial-Up ? You would think that now a days they would have Ultra High Speed everywhere in the USA and CANADA.

Yes AVG plus Spybot Search and Destroy plus Ad-Aware plus hijack this
OK I just remembered couple of points/hints regarding Easy Video Downloader , which I shall incorporate in my tutorial revision of course.
If you look at the screenshot I presented earlier you might notice two options thereupon
  • The place on your hard drive that EVD will download to.By default it is set for My (Your) Documents, but you can browse for any other prefered location.
My suggestion is (asuming that you have an uncluttered desktop, no don't ask to see mine!! In point of fact I have 15 different desktops (one for each of 15 users who include Gordon Lightfoot, Buddy Holly, Project1, Project 2 etc
and most are full of clutter requiring action or sorting).
  • There is an option to save the downloading video file either in its original format which will be *.flv (flash video) or "convert" which it will do automatically when the file has downloaded to either the avi ("high quality")format or mp4 "for video google only" (suitable for ipod or PSP use)
Personally I find that converting to either MPEG-1 (Video CD) or MPEG-2 (DVD) is more useful since both will open in Windoze Media Player (my preferred video player) so I would rather convert the flv using the superb SUPER ©
(Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer)
    Freeware All Can Do converter
As I was saying before I so rudely interrupted myself, my suggestion is to create a pair of new folders on your desktop
one called something like "youtube videos saved waiting to be converted"
the other "youtube videos converted to mpgs"
then it is easy to navigate to the "waiting" folder when you open SUPER © and right click to add your desired file

to the list of files to be encoded, and set up by right clicking on the working area the file to save the output to the "converted" folder

Spybot Search and Destroy plus Ad-Aware, I had Ad-Aware also but a lady tech at Dell told me I did not need it. BTW John I have always been on {High Speed}, and about a year ago I upgraded it to {Ultra High Speed}... No problems here everything works super great for what I do on the (Computer) Internet. But I really do feel bad for people still having to use {Dial Up}. Im sure High Speed is not available where you are, for you would have it right ? If ever you have high speed you will wonder how you did without it.
