Very cool video Brink thanks for posting. Most of these people are Corfidians, Kerstin. I dont know many but do recognize a few faces, like Sir John and wife Susan, Yuri, Bill Hall, and Lady Char at the very end, amongs others. I'll let Brink or others do the task if they choose...

And of course Mike Heffernan & The Man...

Kerstin,
The first two pictures were of Yuri, then a bit later is AnneOK (who is also the sleeping person) me, Donnie and Lori, the big smile guy is Derek (fantastic musician and singer) and behind him is our little mouse, Ron Jones (lightfoothead2toe) at the mic, Bill Hall at the mic, young Kenyon sitting playing the guitar.
Great video eh? Tom has nearly 40 Gord videos on youtube now, just type in Thomas157
and you can watch them all. Remember to leave feedback and he is taking requests, he is planning on getting a video for every Gord song.

JJ - I don't recognize her at all - I was 'star struck' and don't recall much about anyone who was around me.
Geezz, I look awful!! Fresh out of the hospital after a 6 month stay - bloated and balding from medication and lying on a pillow for much of that duration. Thought I'd miss my first Massey concert in about a quarter century but thanks to Char, Jenney and other Corfidians, I made it. Not too much about 2006 I want to remember....

You look great Yuri dont be so hard on yourself. 2006 was not a good year for you eh ! I had some years myself that I dont like to remember. I think we pretty much all have some. "C'est la vie", as they often say down here.

I don't recognize the woman between Gord and Yuri, but some of the others not yet named are Jenney, Matt, Melissa, Ed (they are more "newsgrouper" than Corfidians although some have posted here), Char's daughter Lisa, Chuck, Joan (Susan's mother) ... probably others I should recognize too! Somehow, I seem to have escaped being shown, but I was in only a couple of photographs. Oh, and there's that wonderful lady fiddler, who I didn't get to meet personally. Wish I had.

Hey Val,

I think I know who Ed and Jenney are. But Matt, Melissa, Joan {Susan's mother} I dont. I spotted Lisa, {Char's daughter} who looks a bit like Canadian country singer Lisa Brokop, to me anyway...

The woman between Gord and Yuri, wearing blue is Joan - Susan's mother and John Fowles mother in law. Great lady.

I don't remember what that gals name was she brought her fiddle and some flutes (whistles she called them), she was invited by Jerre Haskins of the Cumberland Trio.

Err Umm Tom has assembled a motley collection of Newsgroupers and "corfiddlers"(a great name Douglas)
  • 0:00 "that woman" at the very beginning wearing a brightish blue shirt is none other than my wonderful mother-in-law Joan
  • 0:24 she also appears next to Jenney (who was in green)
  • 0:14-17 seconds the handsome couple in black and white are Dan and Nanci Rosati from Hamburg NY.Dan (Member number 114) posted here as "Dan" 77 times back in 2000 and 2001
  • There are no less than three pix of young Brink at:-
  • 0:18 she is between anneOK and Donnie Budd with Lori from FL signing something,
  • 0:22 she is chatting to the Minnesota Mouse sharRon with Gord's hard working stage manager Chuck Thomas on her left and Jenney seated
  • 1:10 Brink is seen with Paul and CHar
  • 0:26 is a picture of Jenney and Joan
  • 0:28 shows young Derek Kidd Ed Mullen and Ron Jones when they first met (it looks like those pictures were taken on the Tuesday or possibly the Thursday when some of us met to eat in the wonderful "Elephant And Castle" on the corner of Gerrard Street and the famous Yonge Street and where they serve real english ale in real English (proper full 20 ounce) pint glasses and moreover serve a very fair Yorkshire Pudding mealthey usually have one of my favoUrite UK RealAles (draught Fullers London Pride) but I have yet to see another UK RealAle there0:32
  • 0:31Deby is again pictured with Melissa and Richard from BC on that Saturday morning when Deby Richard and I had been well entertained by Tom "stonewall" Salter at his Niagra studio
  • 0:42 Tom may just be seen behind the red headed violinist (Cindy) where I am studying my camera
  • 0:49 and 0:59 the Mandarin player is Mike Hewett from Ottawa who had been appointed the official recording engineer at the Saturday afternoon jam session (that picture was taken in the garden restaurant downstairs at the Delta Chelsea after the Saturday evening concert and after we had had to leave our paid for large suite as the noise we were making was disturbing a couple that the stoopid hotel staff had given the adjoining room to
  • 0:56 SharRon appears again behind the insanely learing Derek Kidd
  • 1:06 shows Paul Bussey from Norwich UK
  • 1:17 you can see on the couch:-Joan; somebody (who is probably Brian Murphy); SharRon's husband Paul; SharRon mousing away in the corner and Susan in the foreground
  • 1:23 SharRon appears again "On Susan's Floor' plus Paul again in red
  • 1:46 Bill Hall and the irrepressible Ron Jones are serenading Joan
  • 1:40 depicts the tribute band member from MI Matt CarlHe does a mean version of Tattoo I'll tell you
  • 2:03 is CHar's daughter Lisa then Ed Mullen then the fiddler then Mellisa's husband Denny Joe
  • 2:09 is a nice study of the Gord clone (Ron) in action quickly followed by the seated Kenyon Wallace, no he is not Bill's brother!! then Matt again again and Bill Hall then a brief view of jj (Jimmy Jones no he is not Ron's little brother!!) with the Heffernan fellow
  • 2:29 is a nice view of those fortunate to get front row seats being CHar then "The Way We Feel" GL Tribute performer Jory Nash in his trademark hat then Jenney then Paul again and AnneOK
  • 2:38 ending with the fine shot of Gord with his lady friend!!
Note that the pix of the ales and Tom's studio,as rearranged in his upstairs living room for our visit, are from my own collection of Massey 2006 pix: I also have a number of fairly good video clips taken with that camera. including a wonderful 4 minute plus one of the multitude covering the superlative Seven Island Suite (see below). but I played them all and strangely found no sign of Val However it forcibly reminded me that I had uploaded all the videos (which are in Apple Quicktime *.mov format) to my web site with a view to allowing access to all who read this forum and had started contacting everybody to try to avoid upsetting anyone by showing their picture or performance without their explicit permission. I did contact a few but the best video SIS which IMHO is a splendid record of the atmosphere nay bedlam of one of these jam sessions has so many people in it that it would take more time than I can spare to contact everybody!! Therefore since it is there you are invited to try this. If you do not have the Quicktime player then get it!! Alternatively you should be able to save it by right clicking on this link:- http://www.johnfowles.org.uk//LIGHTF...land_Suite.mov and then using the FREE SUPER © ...Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Rendererto convert that mov (and any flash video *.flv) files to say the more user friendly but larger MPEG forrmat in order to
  • play in Windoze Medaia Player
  • burn to a VCD (Video CD) or a DVD to play on your television set
Comments please .If you all approve I can provide more links especially to Ron Jones' sweet "Face Of A Thousand People" and Mellissa Joe's sublime interpretation of "Heaven Help The Devil..... May He Have few Unpleasant Memories" to give it its full title,
All with a view to inspire/encourage as many as poosible to make the pilgrimage to Massey in only 4 months time! So get saving

You have some cool looking guitars Ron. That 12 string Gibson and I believe a Gibson Dove {sunburst} 6 string, they must sound awesome.

Yes indeed Brink, I've now seen your photo for sure. You appear younger than I imagine. Did I not read one of your past post that you mentioned you had grand kids, I might be wrong. Anyway John's post and this last one of yours, confirms who you are in the group. Your the one sending snow to Char & Yuri in Toronto, and then they send the surplus to me down here in Atlantic Canada... Thank you all.

Thanks Jesse J. The 12 string is a Gibson B45 similar to the one Gord uses. There is a cool shot of it it the hands of the very talented Matt Carl further on in the video. At that gig I also brought along a Martin D18 for fingerpicking mainly. For anyone into the finer instruments thing, a trip to one of the Toronto Massey gigs would be a bonanza. The folks show up there with the finest of quality stuff. Hope to see you there, axe in hand. Cheers, Ron J.
