Howdy All,

What follows is an edited e-mail I received this morning from Michael Rodgers [son of Jimmie Rodgers]

*Honeycomb, wonchabemababy Honeycomb, be my own*
Yeah - THAT Jimmie Rodgers.

The *bloodlines digest* he refers to is *Bloodlines* [sorta like here] for those interested in John Stewart's music.

I'll post 3 hospital fotos as soon as I remember how to do it. For now . . . here's Michael:

Hello,

My name is Michael Rodgers. I am the son of the singer Jimmie Rodgers.

I was searching the web tonight and I came across some posts that you made back in April of 2004 on something called the bloodlines digest.

You were commenting on one of dads albums "Child of Clay" and about his career and injury that he suffered at the hands of the LAPD back in 1967.

I was very moved by your comments and I wanted to share with you some wonderful news that took place last week that brings dad's trauma from the head injury full circle.

On June 28th doctors performed a surgery to remove the steel plate that dad has carried in his head for 40 years as large openings in his scalp have been affecting him for a number of years that made the plate visible in his head and was threatening his life with infections that could travel to his brain.

I just wanted you all to know that he is doing great and is preparing to release a new CD next year and has just finished his life story in book form that should be out very soon.

Miracles do happen and one happened June 28, 2007

Under the plate was revealed a complete and intact skull bone where three months ago there was none.

The entire hole in the bone which was an eight inch by six inch oval had grown completely closed with a new skull bone which was smooth and shaped to match the existing skull. It was perfect in every way and was the same thickness as the other bone.

The Doctors said that in 35 years of surgery they had never seen anything like it. They did not need to recreate a new skull bone at all. Dad was completely healed and made whole again after 40 years.

My father and our family want to personally thank everyone who has sent emails and well wishes from around the world.

Your prayers and positive thoughts were heard and all of our lives have been changed in such an amazing way. We cannot thank you enough.

So if anyone asks you how Jimmie Rodgers is doing please tell them that he is completely healed and is in perfect health.

God Bless you all and thank you again so very much.

I firmly believe that dad was healed and given a new skull bone because of the faith of dad our family and so many people throughout the world. Please never forget that prayer works. Prayer is powerful. God is Great!

Much Love to you all,

Michael Rodgers

What a cop out young Rex!!!
I remember Jimmie's great hit Honeycomb vividly also his very nice "In An English Country Garden"
Since Rex has evidently let my tutorials on displaying pictures sail over his head and since he kindly included me in the
limited circulation of an email that seems to be basically a forwarding of complete email he received from Michael Rodgers
on this subject and which handily included the pictures he was referring to.I will take it upon myself
to do his dirty work for him:-

Michael's caption "Above is the steel plate that dad had in his head for the past 40 years. You can see the sharp and
jagged edges from where it had been cut and filed in the past. It used to be completely round"

"Michael, Jimmie & Michele Rodgers celebrating a very happy day.
Two hours after surgery."
a third picture captioned
"A very happy day. Jimmie Rodgers - two hours after surgery. 06/28/07"
although possibly included in Michael's original email it failed to appear in
Rex's forwarded copy
which did however contain more text including
"The entire procedure took about 28 minutes and after one hour in recovery Dad walked out of the room on his own much to
the anger and dismay of the nursing staff. He spent one night in the hospital and was released yesterday.

When we left the hospital yesterday he was hungry so we went to a nearby Olive Garden restaurant for lunch.
You should have see everyone's face when dad walked in with this turban bandage on his head. It was very funny.

As of this morning June 30, 2007 he went bass fishing and when I spoke to him about an hour ago he had landed two."
I thought this was an outstanding story and pictures
and for the record I did the following
  1. I right clicked on each of the two pictures that displayed in Rex's email
  2. selected properties.
  3. highlighted the address/URL in the middle of the properties box
  4. copied it
  5. then pasted it into my browser's address bar to verify that I had the correct URL
  6. saw the picture
  7. clicked on a
"view full size " link that was showing under each picture
  8. checked the resultant image's properties to get its address/URL
  9. Also from properrties checked that they were not too large to show here
(both were already 640 pixels wide)
  10. added the URls to my draft reply
in between the two UBB code tags:-
[img] in front of the URL
    and [/img] after it
  11. pasted my complete reply into the corfid
  12. reply box
  13. Bingo

sory 0/10 for you and no banana or coconut the address you tried to display dear boy is actually the address of this forum itself not a picture at all!!!
If at first you don't succeed suck eggs OK
John's golden rule number 13 for successfully displaying pictures here:-
Paste the address you intend to place between the UBB tags the
into your browser's address bar to verify that it is a valid picture address (URL) and the correct picture. then you've got a fighting chance of displaying the picture
Golden Rule Number One is of course that the picture MUST be on a pukka website somewhere.. anywhere and not on your hard drive or buried inside an email
Hence the recommendation to use http://www.imageshack.us to store your own pictures.
Geddit??

Yes young man that is getting more like it.In retrospect in your first attempt posted on July 08, 2007, at 20:26
you used the picture address of:-
http://webmail.pas.earthlink.net/wam...724&attachno=1
which was obviously the address when the picture was still "buried" in your email, if it is still there why not save it to your hard drive so you can then then upload it to either photobucket (as you did for your confused graphic) or my basic recommendation of imageshack.
Do that and come back and display it correctly and I'll create a special Graduation Certificate for you promise!!
