Is it just me or does our Char lady, look a bit like Joan Baez ?

I always thought this, and last night while watching The Grammys, when Joan Baez sang, if she would have had an Air Geetar, instead of her Martin I think it was, it could have been Charlene.

I hope this does not insult you Char, I say it as a compliment. Same with Bru {Silverheels}, and Pamela Wallin... :D

Spot on young J-J
We tried watching the Grammies last night but I left to do some research on the net and Susan fell asleep so we both missed Joan singing.
judst for the record what did she sing and did you by any chance record it??
Yes likening Char to Joan is certainly a compliment, I did see Joan early on in the broadcast and she still looks good as of course does Char mwwwwwh
Whilst on the subject do try

Yep, definitely a resemblance. Nice to see JB last night. How apt she introduced the Dixie Chicks.

Speaking of Grammys, check the winners list at http://www.grammy.com/GRAMMY_Awards/49th_Show/list.aspx to see how many "oldies" are still winning: Bob Dylan - twice, Nancy Wilson, Ike Turner (!), Tony Bennett of course, George Benson and Al Jarreau, Peter Frampton, Bon Jovi, Chick Corea - is it the 70s again? Lifetime Achievements to Joan Baez and The Doors and The Grateful Dead.

Gives me hope for Peter O'Toole to finally take the Oscar for Best Actor this year, though as always the competition is stiff.

No I did not record it John, and I can't remember the song she sang. Maybe someone else will remember, Auburn Annie?

No, missed it - I was channel surfing last night. Lifetime Achievment Awards were given out on Saturday, so maybe there's no video? I did see these comments:

In keeping with her powerful legacy of political activism, she also delivered one of the most unusual thank you's of the night. "I'd like to thank President Bush for being the best publicity agent I've ever had," she said. "Wherever I go to perform these days, every progressive within 200 miles turns up."

Also:

Joan Baez, who gave a memorable performance last summer at Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay, seemed genuinely honored to receive her Lifetime Achievement Award. Before the ceremony began, she said she is looking forward to launching her 50th anniversary tour next year and expressed concern that young artists starting out now will have difficulty sustaining a career if the record industry continues to implode. As for her new surge in popularity, she credited President Bush, whom she called “the best publicity agent I ever had.”

Imagine - a 50th anniversary tour next year. Heck, I was 6 when she started???

I've had people tell me that before-especially since our hair has turned grey..I got it when we were still brunettes too...and I've had the comparison to a young Jane Fonda (when I was young too!) in Klute. I had the same haircut.
Sadly I have neither the acting abiltity nor musical talent those two women do...
lol
p.s. one of my fave actors was in Klute-Donald Sutherland..father of Kiefer-another fave!
Jane Fonda as KLUTE - 1971
