Uh huh, really. It was first broadcast in 1966. In the states it's on tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC.

So true Annie. I first watched that special when it was only 8 years old and I was 6!

I just watched it less than 2 weeks ago on DVD. I don't particularly care for the "edits" ABC has made to make room for ads!

I miss Charlie Brown specials being on CBS,they showed the whole way through and I also miss that announcer,"It's The Great Pumkin Charlie Brown"!! "Brought to you by...McDonald's...and Dolly Madison"! Ahhhh, the '70s.

Touhy,a lot of the lesser rememebred Peanuts specials like,"It's Arbor Day Charlie Brown","Happy New Year C.B.","It's A Mystery C.B." and others just don't sell as well as the bigger holiday specials.

They're out here on video and while still as entertaining, they haven't been seen on TV in years/decades. The mass public usually only remembers things that are consistently out there.

I'm hoping one day there'll be a whole big box set of Peanuts movies & specials,as well as "The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show."

Yeah but I'm sure they were aired a number of times after they were first released and then at some point they stopped airing them. Obviously when a shows ratings go down then there's no use in reshowing them but still it doesn't make sense how these holiday specials hold ground and the other don't.

I didn't watch the holoween speical but I rented it last year and the Chrismas show just to avoid any of the edit outs for the commericals. Can't remember if I noticed any differences or notBTW as dumb of a question this way sound, Is it too much to ask for that they can't air these older shows without adding more commercials and cutting out parts?

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is still run yearly here (Delaware). I love that one. Snoopy dealing out the toast is priceless.
