Just pondering how long I must be here before our indomitable Mr. Fowles will no longer refer to me as a newbie? Not that I'm not a newbie...just lookin' for some kind of a timeline here....

I woul imagine it's somewhere between 6 months to a full year. When I was new in Feb. '03,I don't recall being referred to as that but I obviously was. I didn't feel totally "not new" until Dec. when, after not posting for about 9 or 10 days due to work and other time consuming factors, people actually left messages asking where the heck I was!
They had gotten so used to my posting nearly everday or other day thatthey thought it odd and out of character! After that,I no longer felt like a newbie and felt 100% accepted.

So,be patient LSH,no one can be a newbie forever. Been me! Aurevoir!

Hey B

Ok, I can do that kinda time standing on head. No problem. If I can learn to post pictures, I can do anything. By that time, everyone will be thinking, "doesn't she ever SHUT UP?"
Got an old pic of me and Gord I'm gonna try and post. It has to metamorphasize from a regular print to digital first. John has urged me to invest in a scanner. I'm hoping I can manage this...seems a little more involved than just posting pics already existing on the web...

Well, B, I looked, and looked, looked some more (foolish me, thinking it was in the small talk forum, grrr), look in the GL forum now, get sidetracked by all the other threads, looked some more(found out who GLs third oldest "child" was at last), looked some more, got sidetracked AGAIN, looked some more (hey, thanks for pinpointing where that pic of you is...), I can't believe all interesting threads, still looking, looking...
AH, there he is...and so modest. Now that it's 10 am, I'm going to bed and hoping I don't dream about disappearing eyebrows!
(you're quite handsome, but I don't feel like complimenting you after that long ass search) L

S'alright. I'm over it. Although I was so tired I got the time wrong in my last post...I meant 10 pm.
I read some interesting stuff on my journey to find the pic, so it all evened out in the end.
(you can stop blushing now)

Borderstone (lyrics/chords)

(G7) The (G) night is as black as the (C) coal dust on the tracks
Up to the (D) east day is (C) dawn(G)ing
From time to time I get (C) women on my (Am) mind
(D) I'm a son of a gun
(C) Borderstone, (G) Borderstone gonna (A) cross your line to(D)night
(C) Borderstone, (G) pretty little town, gonna (D) make my bed to(G7)night
The train that I'm on is a hundred boxcars long
So I don't sleep through to the morning
That's some chilly wind in this gondola I'm in
I wish I had a glass of beer
Borderstone, Borderstone gonna cross your line tonight
Borderstone, pretty little town, gonna make my bed to(G)night
Borderstone, Borderstone gonna cross your line tonight
Borderstone, pretty little town, gonna make my bed tonight
(A) (E) (A) (E) (A) (E) (A)
The sorting of the reach is a (D) thing no school can teach you
I con(E)fess I've been out(D)fum(A)bled
And the sound of the beans boiling (D) through the ever(Bm)greens
(E) Sure do please a hungry man
(D) Borderstone, (A) Borderstone gonna (B) cross your line to(E)night
(D) Borderstone, (A) pretty little town, gonna (E) make my bed to(A)night
(D) Borderstone, (A) Borderstone gonna (B) cross your line to(E)night
(D) Borderstone, (A) pretty little town, gonna (E) make my bed to(A7)night
The sound of the wheels rebounds across the fields
I'm a name with no number
And so I guess I'd be drifting more or less
But still it's not meant to be
Borderstone, Borderstone gonna cross your line tonight
Borderstone, pretty little town, gonna make my bed tonight
Borderstone, Borderstone gonna cross your line tonight
Borderstone, pretty little town, gonna make my bed tonight
Borderstone, Borderstone gonna cross your line tonight
Borderstone, pretty little town, gonna make my bed tonight

Here baby, let me amend that. Not incorrigible, but a mischief maker. Just out there, looking for something to animate.
Stop pouting now.

LSH,like they used to say at the Dean Martin Roasts (to paraphrase) People will only joke with you and poke a little fun if they feel you are worth the effort and know that it's just a joke. In other words,if Stationmaster thought nothing of me,he wouldn't have bothered. No sweat,S.M.!
