Have any of you read the book "Waiting For White Horses" by Nathan Jorgenson. All us GL fans should take a look. It centers around two old friends and uses Lightfoot's music as a continuing theme throughout the book. The song "Christian Island" is particularily important in the story but there are also quotes from "Never Too Close" and "Ribbon of Darkness". You can see several reviews and order the book at: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...167046-6476040
Thought you might be interested.

A friend gave me a copy when my mother passed away last month. The book deals with love and loss and the Lightfoot connection fits "Beautiful"ly. :>

I'm Nathan Jorgenson, the author of "Waiting For White Horses", and I just found this website. I'm glad you noticed the strong connection with Lightfoot's music. For what it's worth, alot of passion went into that story...I still get a little choked up every time I hear "Christian Island". It's a long story. By the way "Waiting For White Horses" won the 2004 Benjamin Franklin Award for Best New Voice In Fiction. Now, when I blow the white horses off my coffee I daydream about which Lightfoot songs might appear in the movie!

Welcome Nathan! Congratulations on winning the BF Award! Is your novel available in the UK? btw 'Christian Island' affects me that way too.

"Waiting For White Horses" is available on Amazon.com. If you can't find it, feel free to contact me at www.flatrockpublishing.com and I'll send you a book. Anyone who goes by "Silverheels" ought to have a look...there is a Silverheels in the story.
