Toronto -- The Maclean's 100th-anniversary bash Tuesday night was surprisingly light on Canadian content, at least musically. And rumour has it that was apparently enough to get one of the guests, songwriting great Gordon Lightfoot, agitated at his table. So say some who attended the to-do.
True, Charlotte Moore sang Mon pays as part of the night's entertainment. But with Brent Carver singing Bob Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind and Colm Wilkinson's rendition of John Lennon's Imagine, the omission of Lightfoot's Early Morning Rain or If You Could Read My Mind seemed glaring, said those there. His manager said that Lightfoot left early to be with his kids.
