...it being an 'un-authorized' biography and all (and I haven't read it yet, just got it today)....do you think Gordon would sign it if we left it up on stage in Vegas? Not sure what HIS opinion is of the book....

I heard once from someone who knows him and who probably knew what she was talking about in this regard that he wasn't pleased with the book.

If it was unauthorized and he wasn't pleased about it,then his signing it would inderectly be him giving the book his seal of approval.
Unless time has made him think differently and it no longer is a big deal to him, then it might be worth a try.

I guess just think about whether you would want to sign a [one-sided] book about yourself which had a few unflattering references...

Thanks, all...pretty much my sentiments, too; just wanted a sanity check.

I wouldn't bring the book. I have two beautiful pieces of sheet music, one I got the whole band to sigh, and one just Gord, and have them framed. I can look at them whenever I like. With a book, not only are you not sure about his reaction, you can't look at it and smile!

You are so right! I had him sign the photo of him on the phone to me (remember that phone call!?!) and it is right here on the wall beside me and never fails to make me smile, thinking of that 'weather forecast' chat!

I asked Gordon to sign a copy of "Early Lightfoot" after a concert a few years ago. He was most gracious. He signed it and said "There are some real gems on this one".
I thanked him and shook his hand. Luckily he didn't destroy it.

I had thought about bringing mine for him to sign but was afraid to. Maybe I am safe now and can get him to sign it, and not take it.
