I saw this yesterday at HGH at noon when we had a 2 hr break in between appt's. This type of ambulance was the one used to get Gord L to McMaster. Ya I carry my digital camera around when I go out of town, never know what I will see.

I wonder if they still call them Bandaid 1 and 2?
I see them fly over the house here in Whitby a lot-Oshawa General Hosp.has a landing field so I know that they are picking up someone who is critically ill and taking them to Toronto or somewhere to get specialized help. I always think a good thought for the person inthe air ambulance...THey are very recognizable in the sky with their orange bellies. Those paramedics are incredible at what they do...
p.s. - how'd you get so close to the landing strip. The one at Ajax/Pickering is fenced off and a lot of hospitals have them on their roofs.
The paramedics on the flight on Sept.8 are largely responsible for Gord still being with us today.
thanks to them!

I got so close because it landed on the pad that is on Victoria St N in Hamilton, it's behind a fence. It's right next to the parking garage at Hamilton General.

When I was in college, I worked in an ICU where I had to help load patients from time to time on life-flight helicopters like the one that is pictured. I was and still am in awe at the skill that the nurses and Dr.'s that man those flights possess. I think that a lot times what they do goes a little unnoticed. You truly have to be the best in the field to even be considered to be a nurse or Dr. on a life-flight copter. My hat goes off to all of them.

FYI.....In Ontario it is only Paramedics that staff the Air Ambulance Helicopters. All the Dedicated Air Ambulance Helicopters are staffed by Critical Care Flight Paramedics, not Docotors or Nurses. They are still called Bandage 1, 2, 3 etc...... They are a fully functioning flying ICU.

All you have to do is click on the edit/delete icon for the message(s) containing the non-appearing picture,or if you can see a red cross in a white square as I can in gord's initial posting right click on it and select properties. I tried that with gord's supposed URL
http://members.rogers.com/cabbie0/Helicopter2.jpg
but the page cannot be displayed
Whichever way once you have the intended URL check it out by copying the URL that the poster used then paste that into your browser's address bar.The picture should then appear in your browser's window
