Flynn ready for show: Flood damage not as bad

The Flynn Center had its own version of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on Friday when a sprinkler head broke and rained water all over the seats, carpeting and Art Deco walls.
It sounded like a disaster, and while it wasn't good, it wasn't as bad as first thought. There was some peeling of decorative embellishments on the walls and ceilings, but according to the Flynn's marketing director, Tom Ayres, inspectors have determined the building is in good shape.
That means the first scheduled event since the flood, Saturday's concert featuring Gordon Lightfoot, is a go. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $38.75-$59.25. For details, call 863-5966 or visit
