I, along w/ Rhea, saw John & Buffy 2 wks ago at McCabes in Santa Monica, CA. Excellent, literally as ever. We're all looking forward to the House Concert in San Diego at Jimmy Duke's O-Dark 30 in June.

John's new music is as grounded as his classics. Same-same Gord and Harmony.

There remain a few priceless things in this life. Brother Ray, John Stewart, and Gord come most to mind this moment.

I'm sure it was nothing personal twords you Rez,but people almost never reply to topics with the same title, about a subject that has already been brought up.

Just a little advice.

Borderstone:

Thanks for the heads-up, I'd intended to post a "reply" along w/ the others, go goofed and hit "new topic." Didn't know how to undo it.

I'm a newbie here so still gotta get a holda the ropes right.

Thanks again,

No offence intended guys but why are we discussing JOhn Stewart on a Gordon Lightfoot forum? Shouldnt this be over at Small Talk?
If I have missed the Lightfoot connection, my apologies.

OK Rez well at least you are a newbie who bothered to register
One of the advantages of being a member is that unlike other message boards such as the Newsgroup alt.music.lightfoot... http://www.newsgroup.shorturl.com

if you make a bog of a new topic or any posting you can simply click on the second from the right icon above your message
(if you mouse over it you will see that it is entitled "edit/delete message"
Then if you click on it you will then get your original typed screed up to edit or check the box that is annotated
"Delete? To delete this post, check this box.
Note: deleting this post will result in the deletion of the entire topic, since this post is the first post in the topic."
So you can either edit your posting or remove it together with all replies that have so far been made.
TIP
If like me you are prone to mis-type and are editing for that reason then each time you edit a new message saying that you have edited the posting gets appended.
If you need to re-edit as I sometimes do you can then remove the damning evidence of earlier editings by simply deleting the existing edited note(s) at the bottom

Why is abbreviation such a long word?

Why is there an expiration date on my sour cream container?

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

Hi Silverheels - No offense but John Stewart is not the only non-GL topic ever discussed on the GL board. Several topics have appeared on this board with no Lightfoot context.

Howdy SilverHeels,

In my heart, the connection is the quality, even pricelessness, of the music certain gifted (not just talented) people create or interpret across their long, if fortunate, lives.

Yet, I agree with you. That's why I tried to show the correlation between GL and JS in my first mis-posted post (did I say that right?)

By the way, I like your ship.

hey, i agree with Bru (which is rare )...Stewart hasn't ever clicked much with me for some reason but musical Ed on the NG made a comment a while back (paraphrasing) that his (Stewart's not Ed's! ) musical contribution is to the USA as is Lightfoot's to Canada... that's one hell of an endorsement, so with that said i re-listen occasionally and wait for the jj lightbulb to come on

i'd like to see Stewart and others discussed more often on the Small Talk board to bring it to life (and get away from the controversial chit chat)

and i imagine that Borderston has been sleeping/lyric-ing on this as well...

"I heard you Small Talking in your sleep
Is there anything that I can do?
I don't believe we've had a post all day
'bout anything at all..."

been me, later!

So Bru is "fuzzy" now a synonym for "moist"??
