I bemoaned the coming release of Complete Greatest Hits (for its redundancy). However, having listened to it for the first time this evening, I must admit it is the best sounding selection of Lightfoot tracks EVER. Much gratitude to those responsible for the remastering (Bill Inglot, etc). And, of course, one more source for the remarkable "Restless" is always welcome. Please forgive my earlier negative remarks...and buy this new collection.

I know what you were talkin' about back in this message Restless. Greatest hits packages tend to get overdone in the music industry. GL's material seems to be done the most bacuse both UA (now EMI-Capitol) and WB know that there are listeners like us for his music. They operate under the assumption that we'll buy anything. Which in some respects is true but they should not go around applying it to all of us. If you think about it,it's a pretty under-handed thing that when he was with these labels, they didn't exactly support him 100% of the time and now that he's not at either, they overuse his catalouge to sell CD's. Or LP's and cassettes in the 70's & 80s. After Songbook & Classic Masters and this one, enough is enough! 33 years of this is enough! It's been me,later!
