here is a lady here I nicknamed the Whitby Wonder and awarded her a certificate for displaying pix here. despite that (and always assuming that she can friggin well read, sghe has carefully chosen not to mark learn and inwardly digest my recent successful tuition attemps with the Washington wonder Laurel.
so she has resortedb to her old tactic of e-mailing a pic to me for me to do the dirty work!!! Never again
but it is such a nice pic (no she didn't even have the nous to tell me its source. But here it is:

I have yet to try to decipher the text under the pic so perhaps the guilty part could at least do that small chore???

John (and everybody else) - the text reads:

Legendary singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot takes the stage last night in Peterborough, where he and several other artists appeared at a benefit concert for victims of a July 15 flood that inundated the city. It was Lightfoot's first formal public appearance since 2002.

My ophthalmologist says I have great focus for my age - I don't yet need reading glasses and can still switch from contacts to lenses (regular glasses) without any blurring.

John, John, John....
I have read and re-read the tutorial and tried but I can't grasp it...I really can't!
lol
the posting of pics from websites is a done deal - i have that perfected now but the other thing---beyond my capabilities!
I tried several scans to get the text to read easier but couldn't get it done....don't know why...
If I can get it to read I will re-send it to you.
The pic was from The Toronto Star front page (above the fold) on Saturday August 7, 2004.
Photographer was Simon Hayter-Toronto Star.

he looks great eh?

Char
you KNOW you love it when I ask for your help!
