In this first picture you can see the muscle strength in Gordon's left hand - veins bulging as though they know only too well where the blood needs to flow to form this "Gord-chord." It's a wonder that he doesn't have any carpal tunnel issues after so many years of this repetitive strain.
Photo 2 I would label: Eye Contact.
This photo is a testimony to his return to better health and confidence.

Well found Denny two smashing pictures and well captioned/entitled to boot,
Congratulations I am sure that I am not the only one to consider that since
you found us you have proved to be a most worthy addition to the group.
Susan thought that picture no 2 was really something.
Here it is again after being cropped square to make it suitable for CD insert use

for reference the Florida Theatre concert on Feb 8 2006 was in fact in Jacksonville

Since Denny started showing his pix that I noted he had found on flickr I have been meaning to look there myself, and having just done so I found that there are an amazing 207 pix of Gord there
the quick link is:-
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=gord...ot&w=all&s=int
and enjoyed this one on the very first page

Gordon, you've been demoted
and there are several on page 2 by Dan Rosati of Hamburg NY who many of us have met often
and who I see put up no less than 50 of his November 18 Delta Chelsea jam session pix at:-
http://www.flickr.com/photos/3551777...7594411473718/
including this typical view

showing young Kenyon Wallace singing along to the B45-12 wielded by "old" Ron Jones with chief session recording engineer Mike behind

Thanks so much John for the kind words - and I do agree with Susan...#2 is really something and may I add...NICE CROP! Good Idea.
I would also like to add that I do not obtain any photos from flikr...but rather I post there in a hidden file. I do this to protect some personal pics and professional ones as well.
Much of what I have posted so far either comes from friends that are pro photographers or (in the case of my first offering) a lucky find here and there. If I do not post photo credits - it is only because I am not aware of the origin.
On a final note...I have many photos of me and Gord over the years - as well as photos of my kids with him and the band - spanning most of my son and daughters growing years. My son graduates from UC San Diego Monday the 18th (headed there this evening for several days of festivities)...and my daughter just completed year 2 of college. So time flies and when I look at these pictures they all bring back very fond memories of good times.
Thank you again for the kind welcome...it's good to be here with great fans and very knowledgeable
folks.

I may just be looking at it incorrectly, but his left hand looks pretty rough in that first picture. I had to call my wife and daughter over to look over my shoulder, they had the same impression. Maybe it's just the light.

his hands are very much like that - even when he's not playing the guitar..
I thought FLICKR viewing was by invite..I know Dan sent his Massey pics on FLICKR to a few folks by e-mail with a link to them.

He probably knows how to hold it so that it doesn't put strain on his wrist.
I imagine he could crush a rock into powder with his left hand by now.

No ned to apologise Denny after all I messed around with one of yours!!
I guess picture posting and viewing sites are ten a penny nowadays
In addition to myspace and flickr I just got a tip of another from an Everly Brothers newsletter it is at:-
http://www.viewimages.com
where a search for our man brings up a half dozen shots from the Live 8 concert in Barrie ON in 2005.
Be warned the site is basically user unfriendly because if you are so bold and foolish as to right click to try to get the address from the picture's properties in order to link to it you are summarily told to buzz off
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot/Viewing_only.jpg
However there is absolutely nothing they can do to stop you grabbing a screenshot which is how I saved this expressive pose
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot/Barrie_ON_Canada 2_July_2005.jpg
Note the large spoiling watermark.
As you mouseover each picture a large caption poop-up, OOPs I meant to type "pop-up",LOL appears

And talking of flickr one Jen Rivard has found this remarkable Gord clone picture
picture title "Busker at Granville Island Market"
caption:-
"singing Gordon Lightfoot"
I just wonder if Ron knew it was up there??
picture tags:-

I will in turn apologise to Jenney for stealing her thunder somewhat but it was too good to be confined to your limited circulation (me only) email
