Question- CHRISTMAS Song?
I heard a Christmas song by Gordon Lightfoot this week. I don't know the name of it, but would love to have it.. Does anyone know of this song?

The only ones I can think of would be "Song for a Winter's Night" or "Circle of Steel".

well, i stand to join Gord in a VHS tape toast (non-alcoholic, of course) as he sings Auld Land Syne (how do you spell that?) every New Year's...but i don't suppose that's what you're referring to, eh?
could it be something off of this compilation?

i'm mainly just here to be laffed with or at (even the latter doesn't bother me )
char, i did that one-handed, i'm getting good, eh?
btw, next printing will definitely include a Hanukkah song since Gord had universal appeal
instead of the Dreidel Song, how about "Spin, Spin"?
pls, any others to add, you creative folks, you?

JJ you are TOOOOO funny! I have been laughing until tears are coming out of my eyes!! My kids are laughing, too!! And, since we're Jewish, we LOVE the "Spin, Spin" idea for the Dreidel song!! Sorry, brains are not awake enough yet to think of any more at the moment! We've been having a relaxing Saturday morning lolling around and, of course, I'm in here!!

and
"Looking At The Snow"
Sorry, jan6906. I can't think of any GL Christmas songs either.

is it just me? or does it not seem strange to see Lightfoot in a Santa uniform? i could probably see Peter Paul & Mary dress up but in the back of my mind he's just 1 of the last people who would.

Being Jewish myself, and knowing that Chanuka usually gets short shrift in Christmas' wake, I thought I'd post a few titles myself..and while I was on a roll, I added a few extras for some of our other holidays
For Channuka :
Anything For Latkes
All the Lovely Driedels
Songs the Macabbee Sang.
Does Your Mother Know (You got a Christmas tree?)
Affair on 8th Night
For Passover :
The Matzohs and Mary Ann
(Four Cups of )Blackberry Wine
Bitter Herbs
Brisket City
For Sukkot :
The Sukkah is Small
and For Yom Kippur :
Forgive me L-rd

JJ, I recall once making up song titles in the unlikely event that Gord should decide to turn to rap. There were a few of us involved with renaming his songs. It was hilarious! So, why don't you turn him into a rapper, and we'll see what we can come up with.

Thanks Sheryl. I posted it right before I went to sleep and inadvertently left a few out, so I re-edited and added a couple of more.
BTW,
Mazel Tov... Its always good to have a roomy Sukkah!
