if Gord appears at one i think it will most likely be on the cbc one tomorrow night you can check out cbc.ca for list of cool celebs/performers

i was trying to list all the ones i've heard about

CTV is doing one later in January but it seems like it's only for Nettwork artists from my initial impressions anyhow

Wille Nelson already raised $75 K during a concert

anyone know more about the Wales concert?

there also seems to be a nbc one on Sat eve http://entertainment.tv.yahoo.com/en...542410000.html

i only wish the Canadian concerts were held before yesterday because that was the cutoff date for the govt matching personal donations dollar for dollar...lots was raised

oh, i also just heard tha Sarah Harmer and friends are doing a fundraiser in Guelph...the list goes on

A massive charity concert is planned here too. Lots of BIG names lining up to perform. I truly hope the money will reach those who desperately need it.

the other shows are going to be held out west later in the month so if there's one that he'll attend it will be the CBC one in Toronto - it's 20 minutes from the house!
lol

Apparently there are steps being taken to ensure that all aid is distributed and distributed fairly to those in need. no politics involved.

well, that canadaforasia went really great, imo (pulled together in 5 days, hard to believe really)

i can't single out anything great or anything not great, i even rewatched Celine's overwhelming clip... fyi, there's a rehearsal clip at http://www.cbc.ca/canadaforasia/ showing Cockburn plucking away as well as a David Suzuki and mister cool Sam Roberts

Ron McLean should get paid more than Cherry

will try catch the Chesney/Clooney NBC event too

btw, there's also a Tear Are Not Enough archive clips with a moment of Gord commenting, shots of Liona Boyd too of course

ps) it was wonderful watching Daniel Lanois get those slick sounds out of the steel guitar and also see Rush play Close To The Heart with Ed Robertson and Trailer Park Boy having a blast with acoustics backing Lifeson (he and Tom Cochrane largely responsible for pulling it all off)

I don't know how Cockburn is thought of in Canada, but I think he has been sorely passed over here in the US. I was watching Franklin (the turtle) the other day - with my Grandson, not alone - and the song sounded familiar. It was Cockburn singing on the Franklin cartoon. That is so great of him to do that.

lsh, i think that was recorded at one of their incredible homes...it was so sad when drummer Neil Peart lost his only daughter in an accident and lost his wife also to illness, agh...it was wonderful to see them all

db, kinda a secret outside the country but not within Canada nor to the music industry folks ...he used to come riding out this way lots, big environmentalist (that's a big understatement, lol!) http://www.icebergradio.com/artist/4..._cockburn.html

ps) i caught some of the nbc show, all great contributions...i really enjoyed seeing Roger Waters (with Clapton) for my first time since about 1990...he looks better now, imo

I taped the show last night but haven't seen any of it...Not really a fan of any of the performers I heard were performing. Lisa watched it tho.
