Has anyone seen a copy on Ebay before and how much is this thing worth?
I heard this was withdrawn and destroyed after its release...is this true?
Thanks

As I understand it, Lightfoot bought back the rights and the unsold inventory. Many were already in stores and not returned, or had been purchased by customers, so there are plenty of them around. It has been on Ebay many times, and has sold for as little as $25 and as much as $200 or more. For reasons I can't explain, I have four of them. Would you like to buy one?

Yo! Val! I'll take one! I tried going to your website but saw no info about it. Can you explain? Appreciate it! m900mwk....Shame,shame on you. Nana nana na-na! : "No wonder it was torched?" Them's fightin' words here in Gordland! Just for that you will be forced to listen to an entire Englebert H. Album! Really!

Borderstone: Are you serious? I really haven't thought about selling prices, but I have one where the album jacket is taped so it isn't "pretty". I would part with that one for less than a more "perfect" copy. Before you jump in with both feet, remember that these are recordings from 1962 - before Lightfoot took the folk path in music. These recordings are fascinating history, and his beautiful voice is - well, beautiful - but this is not the Lightfoot you are familiar with. The first two songs on Songbook (Remember Me (I'm The One) and It's Too Late, He Wins) come from this album; the others are available only on this LP or on singles (45s).
I do have information on the album at my web site, but not on the "Albums" page as it is of historical interest only and Lightfoot does not consider it part of his "discography". To find out a bit more about it, go to my "Biography" page (the link is about halfway down the main page), and then take the "Early Lightfoot" link.
I know you don't have e-mail, so I can't write to directly and I don't want to turn this board into a marketplace. You can write to me via snail mail, if you'd like, at 21 Manning Cove Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.

You bet your boots Silverheels! I'd be a dang fool to pass it up! I mean,so what if hee sounds a bit on the Jim Reeves side? I think it's just another interesting dimension in his career! //// Val,I just wrote the address and don't mind using "snail mail". The best things are worth waiting for. I think for the copy you mentioned I'd go to about $7 or $8. For a better copy $12. (I'd go higher if my job paid better.) I think it best to wait until Sept. 1st or so to mail it though, because it's been over 110 deg. for a couple weeks now here in AZ and I wouldn't want it to warp. It's clouded over today and "looks" like rain but I'll believe it when I'm waterlogged! Hi,Joveski! We're here at the same time! Catch ya later! ("I'm beggin' for some rain!" "Just beggin' for some rain!")

Don't worry about records warping, even here in Phoenix. I keep ordering records, and have yet to have a record warp. Just make sure that the box is a sturdy cardboard box. They actually have lp mailers. It's a flat, slim box which only holds one record, so there's no chance of warping, because the record will fit snugly.

Well of course $7 or $8 Watchman, she's going to have to pay for shipping the thing to me. It's only fair I pay that back, since she's been nice enough to even mention that she has these LP's. If I had the $$$ I'd buy all of them, just to have! It's only polite. Been me,later!

I think you must have misread something, B. Val said they sell on E-Bay for $25 to $200. So the $7 or $8 is probably a lot less than she paid for any of her copies, even the one with the ripped cover.

Just seemed too cheap for what it is. That would nice to get it for that price. Good luck.

Cathy,Val said she had 4 of them and asked if m900mwk wanted to buy one and he said no and then I said yes. If she bought them off of E-Bay she paid what she paid. I offered 7 or 8 dollars for the taped up one because that is what I can afford. I'm not trying to be cheap. As for the better copies,I honestly could go only as high as $15. I'll have to wait for the new season to start at the hotel though, that's when I make better $ than I do right now but not by much. If Val says NO to my bid, then I'll abide by it but I'm not going to spend beyond my means. So, Val? What do you say? Let me know.

Borderstone, I'm sorry, but I can't sell it for that little. I paid $25 for that copy with tape on the jacket, plus shipping. This LP is probably worth more than that, based on what people have paid for it at Ebay over several years, even with a taped cover (which is otherwise in normal condition). I can't sell it for $8. Sorry.

Well,in that case I can wait until business picks up and then I could send $25 plus shipping with no problem. How about that? Me want re-cord!

OK, Borderstone, I'll hold it for you for awhile. Would 60 days be fair? I can see that you really want it and that's the sort of person I want to have it.

60 days would be perfect! That's plenty of time for me to put $ aside a little at a time and still take care of necessities. You bet I want it. You know why? I'll tell you. At this time last year my brother paid for my ticket to GL's show and as I've mentioned before,it totally altered my thinking about Gord as an artist. That's why I went out and bought all his albums, even repetitive "Best Of" LP's from UA. Gordon Lightfoot has become the artist that truly mirrors a lot of my own thoughts and feelings. No artist before and certainly no artist after, has had this much of an impact on my concious mind. I truly relate to his lyrics and even though the LP we're talking about is not your basic GL,it suits me just fine. Thanks again! You're a peachy gal! : (Yeah,I said it. & Y knot? Later!

Heyyyyyy,Val! Just dropping a line to let you know that I haven't forgotten about buying the LP. By my best estimation,I should be able to get the $ to you before either the end of Oct. or sometime in early Nov. Don't sell it!! I want the best one you got. Keep an eye out now,and again thanks! Catch ya on the Flip Wilson show! (Naaah, that's lame! ) Later!

Hey Val. I think it may be awhile longer until I can get the money for the LP. Business at my job just started to pick up but please hold onto it if you can. Okay? Thanks. Later!
