previously mentioned in my CHat with The Man and then by John: what songs would you like to hear in the set list?

wouldn't that be nice!!
Give a 'shout out" for it John!

If he does it, he should do the solo version, like that video from an empty Massey Hall. Just Gord and his guitar.

I am most naturally overjoyed to see that the Queen of the Lightheads has read and fully understood my message and
furthermore taken the hint regarding expanding the rotation list
As a newly favoured one who now has Gordon's ear (and what else besides that instrument?) CHar now has the wherewithal to
influence the great man a trifle, so let's all submit our suggestions. Maybe if not too lengthy a list transpires CHar
could collate and print out a list of the most popular submissions to forward to Gord in due course.
To kick this list off
I am going to suggest a pair
1 Farewell Nova Scotia
I was informed back in 2000 that the orchestra had been practising this and it would be a tremendous gesture if this
could be played during the upcoming Atlantic Provinces minitour
2 Inspiration Lady
as rendered at my request at the Orleans Casino Las Vegas on April 29 2005 this came over IMHO extremely well
I believe this was only the second time Gord had performed this live
(previously it featured in the short setlist of the
Peterborough, ON Memorial Centre (Flood Benefit) - August 6, 2004)
see:-
http://www.lightfoot.ca/040806.htm
OK let 'em roll!!!

Well John when you see him in a few weeks start off with one we know he has said he enjoys and does play often, albeit in the privacy of his own home, and give a boost for "I'll Tag Along"..
and CHar would tag along if the damned lottery came thru in time!
lol

I have only seen Gordon once, I so wanted to hear "The Circle is Small". I do not know if he plays it from time but I would probably cry harder if he played it. He could just talk it that would be great too. Get back to me if he does include it or not and why.

He just may throw "Farewell to Nova Scotia" into the mix when he's there...could be a sentimental decision.
I'd love to be in the audience that night if he did..
LOVED Ron doing it for me in November..

I'd like to hear The Soul is the Rock... it's a great rocking song along with Bend in the Water.. plus I'd like to hear more of the ones he did way back when... especially Partners... another one of those songs that should have been officially recorded.

Definitely Nova Scotia Farewell. Mother Of A Miner's Child would be nice, too.

Can I add 3 at once Charlene? Pleeeeease? :D
I defintely want him to add "The Pony Man","My Love For You" and "End Of All Time",next time he's here.
I know he'd have to set a couple aside to do this. So,maybe set aside "Old Dan's Records" and "Cold On The Shoulder"?

Well I've heard him do Bitter Green (for the nurse) so the one I'd really hyperventilate over when I heard the first few notes would be:
Go Go Round
(a period piece to be sure but so cool if you lived through those days)

I'd like to hear "Stay Loose". I find it very positive and motivating, and would love to hear it the way he wrote it, just him and the guitar.

Any rerotated surprise would be fine with me, but I agree with Brink...Now and Then would be the best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Keswick on 4/27.

you're right B - for each sub there's a deletion...
So when inserting a song into the setlist don't forget to delete one..

oh, i'd love to hear him do a whole coffeehouse-like set in that fashion..i dunno if his hand could endure...he's said that he'd like to be able to gig solo when the occasionally call arises..he's fairly recently performanced in unaccompanied fashion, tunes such as:
Let It Ride, If You Could Read My Mind
Couchiching, Diamond Joe, Inspiration Lady
Restless, Tag Along
other tunes that he's played recently that, IMO wouldn't suffer lack of accompaniment would be:
Sit Down Young Stranger, Pony Man, Harmony, Spanish Moss
heck, I guess he could play anything raw and i'd love it
oh, River of Lightfoot...I'd like to hear that again but either without the band or bring them way down in the mix, love his vocals on that and need to hear them
sorry for the diversion, there's alot of that this week, lol
brink, my addition would be Mornin Glory, recently he only did that once at the Mariposa gig...and one I'm sorry I missed hearing live was Much To My Surprise, a fave of mine from APPT
i can think of so many i'd love...Fitzy, i'd love to hear TCIS also but at it's original tempo, that's not gonna happen...i felt we were teased a bit when he had that spelled out on the floor of the MMM performance...i thought it was a cool touch anyhow
char, after you hit him with this list, Gord's gonna wish he never called back, lol
