if I accidentally misspelled a word though I wouldn't want someone to bark at me for my spelling if I didn't mean it

otherwise, it is advantageous to spell all words as correctly as possible if you can

Hey Y'all,

Good to see some old fashioned controversy drawing everyone out of the woodwork. Good way to get warmed up for the reviews that are due from everyone regarding "Harmony" no later then May 21, 2004. FYI - if you have not purchased at least one copy and sent in your receipt and a review by that date your password will be suspended.

Not a cut-down but if I am an adult and can't spell any better than a 6 year old, something has gone awry in the ol' nogen. Whether it pains you or not, morons do exist in this world. There everywhere.lol Is there a fungus among us? I'm not saying fungus is bad by the way.

First of all: my humble apologies re: " chat board". I MEANT of course, "message board". I will concur that it's far better to read something legible than not. And yes, still on the topic of morons, they ARE out there. But let's be a little less harsh on those who make typo. errors. I wasn't aware of earlier threads on DMD's spelling, who I understand may have misspelled words on purpose. But now let's talk about proper grammer! i.e. " there everywhere" ? Was this just a forgivable adult typo perhaps??? Shouldn't it be " they're everywhere?".....!
Not sure what you meant by the fungus reference....

No, it wasn't a typo Revfred. In light of the discussion here, isn't it obveeus? It went over your head and hit the wall.

By the way, being that you are now into correcting spelling errors, despite your obvious loathing for the practice, the correct spelling of "grammer" is actually "GRAMMAR"!

I found the fungus among us.

Right! Wanted to see if you were paying attention. Nice cover by the way for an obvious typo error...Hope you feel a whole lot better with the name-calling...I had no idea 6 year olds knew big words like that...btw, the whole spelling dilemma is yours, not mine.

It really would have been funny if he had said "I'll half to kick your butt."

I haven't seen this many posts this fast... since I was away from the site for two weeks with a busy workload in December! Cathy, your mis-spelled message gave me a migraine!
Doug,if this was a Lightfoot board actually able to exist in the 1970's & 80's we'd have "tons" to talk about where he's concerned. In the past year that I've been here,we've been lucky to have anything to discuss at all. Not exactly a happy topic to talk about a man's near-d. experience.

We were happy to talk about his recovery though and the news of Harmony's (formerly Twenty) impending release. Other than that, all we've had are speculative questions of,"what would you do if", or,"what does such and such a song mean", and a lot of other really good questions related to Gord.

As far as albums go,all they have had since the site started was,"Painter","Songbook",The Final Four,"Complete Greatest Hits","Classic Masters", and his 20th original studio project.

I made a similar statement a few months back and since then I've realized,it may be a Gordon Lightfoot discussion board, but that doesn't mean you can't have other conversations,as long as they're worth reading.

As far as spelling goes,I wish everyone was a great speller but websites are just a way to pass the time.
Like TV,Radio,Movies, actual human activity that requires leaving the house once in awhile! Simply put,it's just a website and not a serious life priority. We're all Lightfoot fans but we do other things outside of this as well.

Now,aren't you glad you got to see one of my very well thought out, typed and correctly spelled messages?? You're thanking me already aren't ya? "What a speller!" Aurevoir!

In the 70's and 80's there would have been a lot to chat about. There's no telling how many posts this site'd have if it had existed back then.

It probably would have been DMD2 participating in the 70s and 80s, though. You weren't born yet.

Good one Cathy! lol I wonder if there was DMD B.C. ???

Safe to say this site would be up to the "hundred-thousands" in posts if it existed back then. This site would get "hit" as much as,say, singer Usher's site or rappers OUTKAST are probably getting at this moment. ...but can they do songs about sailing????? Aurevoir!

Fraid not. He likes the "Edmund Fitzgerald", and sort of likes "If You Could Read My Mind" and knows "Sundown". That's about it. He wouldn't be too interested in the other stuff...

Three of the more popular songs of the 70s. He's have fit right in with those three.
