Okay, you will ALL flame me now. I missed this thread the first time through because my ole machine was being upgraded.
Here's my dream concert: (Please be gentle when you beat me up -- LOL)
1. Hey, You
2. Now and Then
3. All the Lovely Ladies
4. If You Need Me
5. Mr. Rock of Ages
6. Mother of a Miner's Child
7. Race Among the Ruins
8. Forgive Me, Lord
9. That Same Old Obsession
10. Romance
11. Tattoo
12. Always on the Bright Side
13. Protocol
14. On Susan's Floor
15. Never Too Close
16. Endless Wire (the song I SWEAR he wrote for me -- LOL)
17. Same Old Loverman
18. Anything For Love
19. Someone to Believe In
20. Ecstasy Made Easy
21. The Auctioneer (my mother's favorite)
22. Stay Loose
23. The Ballad of Yarmouth Castle
24. I'm Not Supposed to Care
That's more than enough for a concert. I will now leave and shield myself from your rage!! Most of these are album cuts and I haven't seen many of them mentioned here. LOL! I have a couple of others, but I'm probably in enough trouble already. (Sorry that a lot of them are off "Summertime Dream.")
Stay loose, eh?
LAMS
------------------
"Love and maple syrup
go together like the
sticky winds of winter
when they meet....
If you go into the forest
Gaze up through the trees
The sky is white.
You can understand
What makes the forest
Greet the man
Like a mother's only
child ..."

Leslie,
Just replace "Anything for Love" with something like "Affair on 8th Avenue" and you have a very enjoyable concert.
"Anything for Love" is one I don't care for.

Okay, Dan. I really like "Anything For Love". It's the theme song for a screenplay I'm writing. But "Affair on Eighth Avenue" will do just fine for this fantasy concert. I'll make that substitution.
And Char, alas, I haven't had the pleasure of hearing "Farewell to Nova Scotia" although I would dearly love to hear it. I have, however, been told by many people that it is a BEAUTIFUL song.
And I must add one more to my list. "Go My Way" and it would have to be dedicated to Janice. She beat me about the head and shoulders for not including it in mylist and then asked me to write this, by the way. LOL!

Actully, I didn't intend for you to come back here and post it. LOL, I was just surprised that you didn't think of your ol'cyberpal, Janice, and have Gord dedicate her favorite song, "Go My Way" to her in your dream concert

Leslie et al,
Farewell to Nova Scotia is a wonderful anthem to a gorgeous province. Any time I have heard it it always elicits a tear or two. The audience claps and sings along and it is such a Canadian thing. Where Alberta Bound has a destination, Farewell to Nova Scotia is a sad goodbye.
it is lovely.

Many great ideas here. It was fun to read and imagine them all.
Florian: re Pussywillows, Cattails, I have always seen it as a collection of images of the seasons, spring summer fall winter. Really a beautiful song that I can't get enough of. Also, 11 minutes of CRT. Count me in!!!!
Frank v, I agree with you about Hiway Songs and it's powerful ending. "But heading north across that line is the only time I'm flying." I can readily relate to Gord's feelings about going "home".

'Farewell to Nova Scotia':
Wes, please correct me if I'm wrong, but did you once write this was on top of your list of songs you'd like to hear again?

The above post went into a second page. Instead of following Florian's previous post.
To avoid confusion the song I am refering to is "Nova Scotia".
Frank.
