Where will "Harmony" fit in?
Summertime Dream? If You Could Read My Mind? Old Dan's Records? Don Quixote? Summer Side of Life?
30 years old and we still discuss the "old stuff".
Will someone be discussing "Harmony" 30 years from now?
Sorry haven't posted in a LONG time...I am travelling way too much lately...
Looking forward to Harmony as well as your comments.
Wes

Hi Wes,
I guess we'll have to check back in 30 years, I think Harmony will hold it's own. It's just great that he still wants to do it at an age and health status when most of us will be into our retirement or worse, LOL, taking a nice long dirt nap.
Bill
Two days to go folks.......

Holy Smoke the infamous Wes Steele! I've read some of your posts you disappeared before I started posting about 2 years ago. I think Harmony will hold it's own just like the rest of them. I think though, it will have a footnote regarding the circumstances around this album, which makes it all that more important. Gord is talking about Massey Hall in May 2005, (thanks Char for the article)so hopefully he will be putting out another one in a year or two.

Hey Wes!! Long time no hear - welcome back.
I agree with everyone else in that Harmony will definitely be discussed 30 years from now. I think it could be a very pivotal album in his career - not only from the stand point of the manner in which it was conceived and executed but with the excellent content as well. I think it will be the one that has the potential to create a "come back" for him. Not that he ever left in our hearts and minds, nor of the hearts and minds of the thousands who continued to go to his concerts and buy his albums over the years, but I mean a come back on a public level that puts him back on the radio and back in the charts.
The wonderful thing about Lightfoot's music is that it is ageless, so we'll also still be talking about Summertime Dream, If You Could Read My Mind, Old Dan's Records, Don Quioxte, Summer Side Of Life, etc., as well.
So good to hear from you again - don't be such a stranger.
Janice

As always from you Gordon Lightfoot fans, excellent replies to the questions.
Who would have thought with him being near death, that we would have a least one more album?
We should (I am sure we will) look upon "Harmony" as a treasure...
Wes
