Please disregard if so, but has the Finnan/Nash Lightfoot Tribute show dates for the US this fall already been posted here? I just saw them at Terry Tufts site and didn't know if they were confirmed and if the artists will be the same as was last January at Hugh's Room?
char, jr, others, what's up - any scoops or can you direct me to a previous thread please?
(I'd e-mail but my yahoo inbox blew up from receiving BIG pics, lol)

Gee, wonder why your email blew up? You've been receiving a lot of email today jj?
I think Char posted the dates already, but I made the mistake of being away for a week and I'm still catching up on stuff. Char? Did you post the dates? Or am I imagining it?

as does terry's site and www.aengusfinnan.com.
January 2005 will be the full show in Toronto, St.Catherines and Port Hope.
Artists are still being contacted and confirmed to appear.
I was in Grafton a couple of weekends ago (small town where Aengus is from just 45 minutes from me in Whitby) He was recording a live CD in the Town Hall - it was fabulous. What a talent - songwriting, singing, guitar playing are all astounding, especially considering he's only been at it for about 5-6 years. Jory was there to lend some harmony - he's a fabulous artist as well. Both are great fans of Lightfoot and have new CD's coming out this fall. On their sites you can listen to some MP3's - give a listen.....you'll be happy you did.
As far as I know from the guys these are the only dates for the Tribute Show in the U.S. for this year.
If they are in your area doing their own stuff go and see them...it will be a night to remember.
Char
JJ - I'll save ya a seat upfront at Hugh's Room. Right jenney?

thx, Jenney + Char...such a great help
ashamed Jory wasn't on Beautiful, but when I asked him if there would be a recording released of his and other's versions I didn't mean the produced Beautiful CD, i meant a live recorded release plus stories, get him, Tufts and Finnan on it Jan05
and what about coming northwest of the city too, Guelph is a good spot for folk folks!
ps) yeah, I'll bet Aengus live CD will be terrific, hope Rich Man's Spiritual on there

jj- i was sorry to see that Jory wasn't on the BEAUTIFUL tribute cd too... the 03 and 04 tribute shows were not recorded. too costly....i asked them the other night and they didn't think the 05 shows would be recorded either. it's too bad - all of the shows should have been video taped and audio recorded - for posterity if nothing else. jory said his memories would be in "here" - touching his chest as he said it. Jenney and i reminded him that he was young and when he got old like us he'd need a visual and audio reminder of things from the past!
lol
Guleph has all kinds of venues and associations that Jory and Aengus use and perform at. They also do house concerts....how big is your place jj???? if you've got an extra guestroom i'll come out for a house concert!
lol
i think they are $15-$20 per person - not sure how many folks are a minimum tho to get them out to a house concert... i'd love to have them. VitalSpark Folk society here in whitby is having Jory in February. Aengus will be in Montreal he said. I'd think I died and went to heaven to have them 10 minutes away-performing together!
ack!
too much talent for one night! i am making plans to go and see Jory tho.
come on out whitby...it's worth the drive!
no swimming tho-Charbeque is always on!
The live CD Aengus recorded is his material mostly, some traditional but no Lightfoot.
other than his composition entitled"Lightfoot". love that song!

Absolutely! I'll be going to some of the US dates, as well as the show next Jan. in Toronto. I thoroughly enjoyed the tribute concerts and was just amazed at the talent there. I've become a huge fan of some of the acts there, Aengus, Jory, Terry Tufts, Rick Fines and Mad Violet to name a few. They all put their own spin on songs that I love making them come alive again in a different way.
