Oh YES! Finally!! I was worried already that this concert would be a no go. It was odd they didnīt announce it on the DECC website. Two Gordie concertīs in a row, must be christmas and easter on one day...
Thanks for posting it RJ, you made my day here in Germany...

Yes it not only struck me as pretty late in the game, but the tickets don't go on sale now apparently till even much later in the game..

The other funny thing about the DECC show is, odd 7:00 p.m. start time, and the cheaper ticket prices by about 10 bucks a pop etc..

Maybe you hard core iron rangers up there aint got much disposable income, and gotta get up early on Monday?!..

Just kiddin ya iron rangers..
Y'know I love ya..
Heck, you BUILT this country!..
etc..

See you on the shores of the mighty Gitchee Gummee baby..

Oh ya..

re: 7:00 p.m. start time in Duluth etc..

Although I don't believe I ever bought a Sunday night ticket to see Gord that didn't have 7:30 p.m. noted on it as the start time, I do know there's the occasional 7:00 start though; and I know it because we were in South Bend for a rainy lousy Sunday night, and we show up promptly at about 7:15 at the Morris Performing Arts Center..
http://www.theaterleague.com/i/info/...nd_morris4.jpg
..and..
there's nobody there!
I said, "Where IS everybody!?"..
and the usher says, "The show started at 7.."..
WHAT!!?
WHAT THE!!?
;-O
(the tickets clearly say 7:30 p.m. etc.)..
We dash upstairs to the balcony, walk in, and (I'll never ferget it unfortunately) Gord's on stage singin this line: "I been down on my luck as a matter of fact, I've even been chased!"..
boy was I mad..
;-O
We find our seats in the dark and plunk down in'm..
(Now y'gotta understand..
fer me, the walk-on's the best part!
and I MISSED it!)..
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
know wh'mean?..
So I'm fumin, seein red, huffin, puffin, my heart-poundin, my head-poundin, blood-pumpin, fists'a clenched, teeth clenched, taught-jawed.. my eyes all menacin' lookin..
I was ticked off, set off, put out, ripped off etc..
My mind was spinnin, my head was spinnin, my toes were spinnin.. my toes?.. ya, my toes!..
spinnin!..
I aint kiddin ya!..
So I do the best I could to enjoy the first set..
Intermission comes, I march us both down to the box office to "see the manager"..!
etc..
I was cordial, explained the situation..
wanted my money reimbursed..
just to, y'know, make a point..
the principle of the thing..
etc..
(apparently they had sent out a mailing notifying us good ticket-holdin folks of the time change etc.; didn't get mine obviously)..
;-(
Anyway, she wouldn't do it, but (to their credit) she offered me two tickets free to any future show..
Well, we've never been back to South Bend, so the offer has not been redeemed..
but there ya have it..
The only show I've ever been late to in my whole freekin life..

by golly..

The Morris Performing Arts Center..
South Bend, Indiana..
April 28, 2002.

Oh RJ, I can feel your pain and obviously, youīve not forgotten the disaster yet - I would feel the same.
So thanks for pointing out the start time. Iīll make sure I leave the Twin Cities early enough to fight hell and high water on the Interstate and still be on time...
But to put the tickets on sale only four weeks before the concert is really an odd business decsion.

To be honest, we shoulda figured it out.. cuz we were at like, the only pub that was open in the whole town that evening; some sports bar right around the corner from the hall etc..
The place was packed fer a pre-show happy hour, but then slowly people started to filter out about 6:30-6:45..
and bein the experienced Gordquesting veterans that we is, you'd think we'd have figured out when we were like, the last two dummies still sittin there drinkin beer and munchin appetizers etc..
"Um, where'd everybody go?".. you'd think we'd think..
Anyway, normally we'd walk to the theater a couple hours before the show as a matter of course..
just to verify things, get our bearings, check the start time etc..
before we go for refreshments and munchies..
and even then we'd be at the venue a good 1/2 hour early too..
but bein that this was the end of a 3 shows-in 3 nights-roadtrip for us (Kalamazoo Friday, Ann Arbor Saturday, South Bend Sunday)..
well.. maybe we were a little blown out by then etc..

Actually now that I look at it..
http://www.lightfoot.ca/2002.htm
we saw the Minneapolis and Duluth shows the next week so, that was a run of 5 shows in about 10 days there fer us..
Good times mates..
real good times..
etc..

Like the 7:00 p.m. start time on a Sunday night. We then can comfortably drive back to our home in the northern Twin Cities that same night. (About 130 miles but freeway the entire way.)

Thanks, Barry Harvey and local promoter.

re: (though I know it wasn't really Cleveland etc.)..

Hmm..
maybe it was..
http://www.europa.com/~random7/fitz.htm

I thought I had read somewhere Lightfoot used "Cleveland" with poetic license..
Perhaps not then..
