Brink, initially it was my intention to see Gord at Massey Hall last November. However when I saw that he was doing 2 concerts in Orillia and 1 in Stratford in September. I changed my plans. By the time I phoned for tickets there were only singles left for both nights in Orillia. Therefore my wife and I were seated quite close together, but apart. If my memory serves me well I was in row P, my wife in S. I was 3 seats in from an aisle to my right, in the centre block.
We Stayed at the Econo Lodge on Memorial Drive. We spent Saturday wandering around the lake front watching motor boaters launching their boats, as it was a beautiful weekend. We booked all our accomodation and show tickets for Orillia and Stratford from here in the UK via this wonderful internet.
Normally by now I have sorted out our itinery for our vacation from Gordons tour schedule. That may not happen this year but we live in hope.
Prior to Orillia we drove up the Bruce Penisula which pokes out into Lake Huron. We spent a few days at the Tamerac Island Inn. Apart from the Inn there are about 10 houses on the island. Whilst in the Econo Lodge in Orillia, we were enjoying coffee and donuts on Saturday morning and got into conversation with an old couple staying there also. We mentioned that we had been on the peninsula. They told us that they had a holiday home there. I mentioned our stay at Tamerac. Would you believe it? That is where their holiday home is. We always say it is a small world.

I'm 35 and a huge Gord fan. Jbt is my younger brother and also a huge fan. I agree, however, that we are in the minority. Most of my contemporaries are not big fans. They recognize the hits, but that's about it. I think growing up with an Irish immigrant mother playing irish folk tunes 24/7 is one reason we're attracted to Gord's music. There are a lot of similarities between the two. Of course, we have a sister in the middle who could take or leave Gord. So go figure...

formerlylavender,
I pulled out my pictures of you and jbt from in front of the Keswick that evening. He's younger? But anyway, that was a great show, and Gord's shows for my birthday present were becoming a family tradition. Can't wait until the next show is announced. As notsocooldude said I'm having trouble planning for this year. Get well soon Gord!

Hey Billw,
Jbt is indeed my little brother. Thanks for the compliment though. I could tell you were an intelligent person - ha ha! I'm still hoping for a follow up show at the Keswick too. That will be a happy day when we hear that Gord has resumed touring. I can't wait.
Take care.
Lisa
