Well my feelings on this subject are already on the board so I won't bore you with them again. If anyone wants to know my thoughts on this there on the post "A little disappointed". I will say I agree with Florian " I wouldn't change them at all".

For the good of us all eh? Maybe that played in the sixties, but many have trouble with that now.
I always thought Gordon was being a little sarcastic with the line " for the good of us all " . I say don't change anything but appreciate the tunes as they were recorded in there original context.

Alas it was not to be

On my second cup of coffee and I still can't face the day

That's ironic.
Here in New Jersey, I was singing
"Heaven Help the Devils, may they (the other team) have some unpleasant memories"
Even Gord hasn't been able to sing the Cup into Toronto. However, we've had a few Cup sightings here in the last few years. My son and I have our picture taken with it.
Maybe this year Scott Stevens will stay healthy into the playoffs. "Heaven help the Devils" is DEFINITELY an improvement on the lyrics! LOL
Go Devils!
and while we're at it, "Go Yanks!"
------------------
"And the laughter came too easy for life to pass me by."
