In Toronto, The Canada Walk Of Fame yes , but not in Hollywood's Walk Of Fame. Which, Anne Murray has one, Celine Dion, and many others. I think if Celine Dion has one, Gord should definitely have one.

The only thing I can think of is contacting Ingrid and see if she'd contact the H. Walk Of Fame people.

I don't think they'd listen to us "commoners".

First off:This is NOT a criticism.But this has been discussed here at Corfid before(see

However,you are both correct.Elizabeth was correct in stating that Gord DOES have a star on the Toronto Walk of Fame.But he DOES NOT have a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame;as you stated
Jesse-Joe.

If you read through the entire thread I began last March,you will find that the rules/regulations are(in my opinion)somewhat hard to comply with.
However,I agree with both of you that Gordon DOES
deserve to have a star there.In fact I think he deserves it more than K.C.and the Sunshine Band.

I thought that maybe people in the buisness, should look at something like this , for example his record company, managers etc...People with influence in the music industry,{ie} David Foster, who knows what Gordon has contributed as a songwriter.


For a Canadian that's won, every major award, that his country has to offer, and the way he is accepted in the world, not only in Canada. And especially in the USA, where he performs the most, you would think someone in a position to nominate him, would have done so by now.

Ok,heres an idea.I'm fairly certain there are a few members here at Corfid who know Barry Harvey,
or possibly one of Gordon's band members(Charlene
and/or Jennifer are the first two people who come to mind).Maybe if we can persuade one of them to
get in touch with the right people,we can get the
ball rolling.Personally,I'd really like to see this happen,and SOON!Lets face it gang,Gordon is almost 70yrs old.I'd hate to see him get a star posthumously.

My guess is that if you asked Gord whether he cares about getting a star on the Walk of Fame, he'd say that he couldn't care less. That's just the kind of guy he is.

Personally, I'd be much happier to see him inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, which is a topic that has been discussed previously in this forum.

one criteria is a contribution to the community and then the sponsorship fee is 15 grand.

And I doubt if he'd care about it..He's got one here at home where he's stayed all of his life.

I think the thought is very nice, to want him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, I find it rather embarassing to watch celebrities on their hands and knees, putting their hands into wet cement. I cannot imagine Clint Eastwood doing that, and if Gord is in the same category as Clint, it's OK by me.

It is a travesty that he is not in a Songwriters Hall of Fame, or Rock & Roll Hall of fame for that matter.

Not to belabour a point here gang:
But Gord was inducted into the CANADIAN songwriters hall of fame in 2003.

Scroll down to the third one.You will see Gordon Lightfoot.Directly under that you will see If You
Could Read My Mind.

So if I'm interpreting all this right:the song If You could Read My Mind was inducted into the Song-
writers Hall of Fame in 1969.Gordon Lightfoot himself was inducted into the canadian song writers Hall of Fame in 2003.

As far as I can figure out,he is NOT in the American Songwriters Hall of Fame.
