I enjoy the opportunity to visit a number of GL sites. Except for "THE newsgroup" for reasons I'll not mention here. The post by jf above was disparaging, best wishes for your site Gord...the more the merrier

If you have MSN Messenger add me there, lightfoothotmail.com

I can send you No Hotel that way.

Al,
You must have the newsgroup confused with one of the Lightfoot Yahoo lists. The newsgroup messages don't come through your inbox. You have to literally go to the newsgroup, either through a newsreader like Google, or by subscribing to the newsgroup through Outlook Express or some other mail program. Even if you use a mail program, it still doesn't come through your inbox.
With Yahoo groups, you can choose to read it at the site, receive all messages in one daily digest, or receive them individually. And I agree with the fact that 200 e-mails a day can drive a person over the edge!

John Fowles,

Also John, my first reaction to your weekly chat posts were that we need your weekly low-downs on your little chat room like we "need another hole-in-the-head". Curiosity also got the best of me and I found the same nonsense in the chat room that I was getting in all of those bloody emails.
Gord, keep doing what you do and keep up the good work. I know that websites, forums etc. are new to you and you are teaching yourself how do to all of it. Don't let some of these jealous, spoiled, ill-mannered adults ruin what you want to do.

Well, first of all, the deal with the chatroom is... many of us have met in person, so it tends to get a little over friendly. As far as the flirting goes, I really don't see it happening. It may seem like flirting to someone who hasn't met the other members, but in reality, everyone is just having fun. You should see how we act in person!
There's no way 100% of the people can talk about Lightfoot 100% of the time. It gets a little boring, because most of us have done that over and over and over. However, I'm sure if a new person has a question, and it's something the regular chat members can answer, if they ask the question they'll get a serious answer.
And I've met John several times. He's far from spoiled and ill mannered. I've had several nice conversations with him, and he gave me a lot of support when Dad died. I'll always appreciate that.

Al, I really think John was trying to be funny. He does have a sense of humor, believe it or not. You shouldn't jump down his throat unless you know what you're talking about.

Hi everyone,

Been offline with a "cold" but I'm glad to see you're all getting into 2003 with a bang. The thing that I like most about any of this Lighthead stuff is reading concert reviews within days of the concert by real people who were there and paid good money and don't mind that he's older than he was when he was younger or that he's more sober now than when he was drunker! And as the reviews got closer to the date that my tickets were for it got better and better, getting a preview of what sort of gig to expect and then the day itself, oh happy days! Here's a wish that we see him on tour again and have something new to chat about.

But I digress: Al, I'm glad to see you've stopped beating around the bush and are telling people what you really think, LOL. I
almost laughed Diet Coke all over the monitor catching up around corfid.

Peace all,

Bill

And please say a prayer for our brave men and women astronauts.

Cathy,
What is this all about? I didn't mention the newsgroup or receiving messages through my inbox. My only 'sin' was to point out to John that people should be allowed to choose where they chat!!!

Bill,
I think someone must have deleted a post, but it wasn't me and it wasn't my post. I'm confused. Is there another Al here?

Painter,

You may be able to choose whether to be known as "Alan" or "Al". It appears The Watchman has deleted his posts from all threads, packed his bags, and left the board! And he didn't even leave us a note!

best regards,
closetcanadian

True. But there's always the fear that:

If I wait for the right moment
You can bet I'll climb aboard unseen
