Well, it looks like I may be sent down to the Ms. gulf coast in the next day or so for a 3 week stay to assist with relief efforts by the company I work for. As a nurse licensed in Ms.I go willingly, however, I will miss Gordon's shows in Sparks. I keep hearing he is retiring at the end of the year. Has this been announced? Maybe he can reunite with his wife if he stops working so much. I just really wanted to see him one last time. Any idea, Auburn Annie? Thanks,KLB

No retirement that I know of - there was word in May that he'll be at Massey in November 2006. I don't think he's worked this hard to get back to performing only to say, thanks, it's been swell. That's not Gord - he'll perform until either he drops on the stage and they carry him out feet first, or nobody shows up. Even then he'd probably play for the stage hands, LOL. If and when he ever hangs up his guitar there will be plenty of coverage, and the official word will come from the man himself. Even Pete Seeger, who's pushing 90, still performs once or twice a year.

One of my faves, Tony Bennett, is still jet-setting around the country doing the tour thing.
He's aged like a fine acoustic guitar.
