I have a great CD of Gordy in concert in 1976. There are pretty good background vocals on almost every song. He played this 1976 show with the same band as he currently tours with (minus PeeWee on slide). Who was doing the bakcground vocals and when did Gordy put a stop to it and why? It may have been Rick Haynes singing as I notice during shows that Rick sings all the words to 'Sundown' when they play; but I would have expected a big guy like that to have a lower voice.
If anyone has gone to a Lightfoot show in Minneapolis or Denver in the past dozen years or so, I'm the fool who always asks for 'High and Dry'. Gordy always says something like, "Sorry, that song's sleeping", or "Sorry, we've already moved a capo or two". Once in 'Minny', he just said "No" and made everybody laugh. He cracks me up.
GO GORDY, GO!!!!

Is this the album that Gordon did not release because of some technical difficulties?

No Scott, that was Massey Hall 1974. Gordon broke a fingernail during the concert and to his ears (not mine) it ruined the sound. If you ever get the chance to have a copy, don't let it pass you by. It begins with "Tennessee Stud" and "Pleasures of the Night" and is one of the few times he performs "Seven Island Suite" live. Just a great performance!

Thanks Suzi. I would love to hear him do "The Tennessee Stud." One of my favorite songs!
